The forums are a great place to take advice, particularly the Work In Progress (or WiP) part. Post beta copies of boxes there, and get advice before the final copy.
Also, if you're using MS Paint, get GIMP and/or Paint.NET, as it is what everybody else uses (except some Photoshop-ers) and it's quality of work is better than MS Paint.
