The front lacks a focal point and the back has too many. I think to make the squares stand out on the front you could of done a nice color to black and white contrast to keep the front and back matching. One color square one black and white so in and so forth.
I tried downloading this cover, because of the overall appearance & design of the cover itself, only to discover when opening the file to see only a dudes face in the image itself & No Cover, whatsoever. Thank God, I had it set to "Preview" before I started printing the cover.

I like how you incorporate squares as a design on the back but the front feels like a forced pattern, really it could work better without it.
