Ahem, there are two versions of this cover, as evidenced by the "version 2" and "version 1" texts. Please view both of them, as the first was the concept that inspired me to make this entire cover. If you've played the game at all, you'll know what it's all about. I wanted to add glasses to each of the characters while behind the TV, but it came out worse than previously expected, so I left it be.
I've always wanted to make a Persona 4 cover, the trippy colors and general style really appealed to me. I wanted to combine that with something I'd usually be more comfortable making, and I think I struck a balance between the two. It was easily one of the funnest design's I've made, for sure.
This game is fantastic, too, so if you have access to it in any way, play it. Now.

Fantastic job SD (: The back text looks great! And the overall theme is perfect

Awesome! but why does it say "Thou are I" and "I am Thou" on the back?

#2: Thanks, man. I made sure to have the text easily readable this time. At least, most of it.
#3: Like the TV concept, if you play the game (or any Persona in this case), you'll know what it means. I originally wanted Izanagi placed behind Narukami, to make the connection a little more clear, but I couldn't find any decent artwork.
I suppose it's worth mentioning that I recreated the majority of the artwork in the same manner as my previous covers. I wanted it to have more of a "Persona 4: The Animation" look than what's in the game itself.

Nice and colorful.

Personally, I've never really played a game in the persona series, but this box does more than give it justice.

#5-8: Thanks, guys.
#6: Not sure what you mean, but thanks kindly, Aelixus. You could say this was also made out of inspiration from your own landscape designs.
#8: If you ever get the chance to, don't pass them up. Persona 3 and 4 specifically are some of the best RPGs of the last generation.

Looks really awesome, the effect on version 1 is really well done too. My only complaint is that it's not in a proper template.

Wow, I think that this is my favorite box from you thus far, and I generally hate anime type artwork. Really awesome job.

#10: Hey thanks, Pan. I did originally try to incorporate the official PS2 template, but not only did it not mesh with the rest of the design, but really restricted my room to work with. I could add a subtle PS logo somewhere, but the thought hadn't crossed my mind when I was making it.
#11: You think so? I doubt I'll be able to top my Metroid Prime cover, in my eyes, but this is one of my favorites. I put equal if not more effort into this.

Real sexy design, very official. Great job.

So awesome.

Thanks you two.
I decided to a printable for this. It wasn't originally intended to be printed, but check it out anyway.

Stopped by just to comment on this. Seriously.
This is fucking fantastic. This not being in HoF by now should be a crime. Though.. where is my Yukiko render on the front hmmmm? lol
Amazing job.

#16: That's one comment I wasn't expecting to see. Thanks for dropping by, LK, it's greatly appreciated. And I wanted to add Yukiko to the front, but I couldn't find the right place and her artwork poses were pretty limiting.

Oh my God, you went all out sd. This is fantastic.

I think this is amazing, just as the rest of the commenters.
It would be an amazing poster (front) and a gread ad (back) but for me, it doesn't work as a boxart.

#18: Thank you. Glad you were able to drop a comment off.
#19: I assume you're getting this from the lack of a template. I would have added one, official or no, but it limited the room of the design and kept me from adding everything I wanted. In the end, I wanted to add a subtle PS logo in the corner, but as you can see either way would risk either obstructing the logo or Rise's head.

#20, Partly from the lack of the template. I can still like other boxes like that. I guess it could be a combination of the template missing, the box lying and not standing and that it's just, well, stuffed.

Don't know what to say. This is pretty awesome all the way. You figured out a way to make the horizontal format work well and look official.
I've been curious as to your technique for tracing, it's very well done.

#21: I see. The horizontal layout was chosen for the purpose of Version 1, the TV being a very important plot point and gameplay mechanic. It wasn't possible to creative it vertically and have the same effect. I'm not sure what you mean by "stuffed". Care to elaborate?
#22: Thank you, I'm glad to hear that from a fellow SMT fan. I've no special technique in creating these designs, and in turn nothing to share. It doesn't go beyond simple use of the pen tool.
