Gold, orange, yellow. Whatever you want to call it, that's the dominant color in Human Revolution. I don't feel that means I should follow suit with my cover, so I instead went for something a little different.
I have to say I'm a little torn. My biased towards liking your working regardless of quality has me enjoying this quite a bit. But the strong color and contrast is gratuitous at best. I'm also not fond of the "layout" of the back but the front composition is well done.
Certainly not your best but I don't think I should rob you of a fav.
#2: The contrast is something I've been pondering since I finished the image. I recently moved from my laptop (which is on it's last breaths of life) to a desktop, and the differences in color and lighting between the monitors was jarring. I tried to rectify the issue, but I feel the front suffered more than the back, specifically around Adam's face.
I do appreciate the comment and favorite. Both with this and my Final Fantasy XIII-2 cover, I'm working less towards a "grand" cover designed to please everyone, and more simply for my own enjoyment.
Front is great as usual! But the back, similar to your other recent designs, has text that's hard to read. And like Jevan said, the area behind the guy's head is a bit distracting. You need some sort of dark background behind the text, especially if you're using white. I would suggest bumping the opacity of the black text area's by at least 25%, but that's just me.
#5: Thanks, deiviuxs. I've grown tired of all these black/orange Human Revolution covers, so I made it my priority to try something different.
#6/7: That's a wall. I suppose I could darken it though.
#7: Call it the way I work, but I like trying to implement the text into the image itself rather than an addition laid over top. This means taking certain risks or sacrifices for the good of the design, but I understand your point of view. If I make an update, I'll add darkening the text box to the list of changes.
ITS NOT YELLOW, WHAT KIND OF BLASPHEMY IS THIS!?!?!? lol, jk. Loving the front, as well as the departure from the oh-so-damn-yellow colour scheme of this game. Not a huge fan of the layout of the back and yea, the text is a little difficult to see in spots.
I really like how this doesn't look like every other Deus Ex box, but I do have a few complaints. 1) Parts of the back look overexposed, possibly due to the lighting effects. In the center of the box, the lighting effect used is way too bright and it kind of washes out parts of the image. I'm not sure if you added that or if it was already part of an image you used, but I wish you had toned it down. 2) The text on the back is quite difficult to read due, in part, to the last thing I mentioned. Overall, I like the coloring and I think it's a really clean box. The lighting as a whole is alright, but I think it needs improving. I've noticed that on a lot of your boxes you have the same problem where the lighting on the back is just too much for the text which is usually white. I do love the cinematic look the lighting gives your boxes, but if you're going to have a bright box, just go with a text color that it slightly darker. Not to say I'm not impressed with your work, simply an observation I've made.
#4, I know how you feel. I too recently dumped my old laptop and moved on to a shiny new PC. I was extremely surprised but the color change too. I like how you decided to make the box unlike the others on this site, and I think the outcome was outstanding. I would just keep playing with the saturation until it looks a little less... saturated.
#11: Thanks for the support. There's no issue in offering critique, though.
#12: Thanks. It'll take some time getting used to this monitor. It's surprising to see how different it was when I created it and how it was when I submitted it.
Awesome work again! This box looks more fantasy than hi-tech. But it's unique. :D
The colors and lighting still your best part. But I want to see more in your layout design (Maybe your next :D). And I prefer a black legal and stuffs part like this link
Very nice, I've always loved your style of typography and it works well here. Others have complained that it's too hard to read, but in full view it can be seen no problem. The mix of colors looks good too.
#14: Thanks, Aelixus. The white space on the back was part of the PS3 template, I just used what I was given. I assume most official covers use it as well.
#15: Glad you like the colors and lighting. It's a bit more yellow than I'd originally though, at least when viewed on this monitor, but overall I'm still satisfied with the result.

Different is what I love and I definitely love this!
My only gripe is the big white legal text background. It stands out too much but other than that this is amazing.
Definitely a FAV from me!

Not bad. The font is pretty hard to see on the back and it seems you missed a bit of the forest behind the man's head on the back.

Everyone on this site has such high standards nowadays..
..no wonder no makes box anymore - they just can't please majority of the sites' members.
Seriously, chillax people and enjoy a fresh and high quality design - that's really rare these days to come across.
