Heavily inspired by Ayron's lovely Final Fantasy XIII cover (link, this is likely one of many XIII-2 submissions. I wanted the cover to focus almost entirely on Lightning, although this made the back layout more difficult as there's few usable images of her in her Valhallan armor.

Something about the splatters you used to create the background image doesn't quite sit right, I think it's because it's too obvious that you used common brushes or splatter images. Kind of a minor nitpick though, the design itself is something new that I haven't really seen before, so good job.

#9: I see, and suppose I can see where you're coming from. I've used splatters before, and generally have trouble integrating them smoothly into the design. I'm quite satisfied with the front, but the back proved a greater challenge. Thanks, Pan.

Lightning isn't left handed. Square somehow released this badly, because in the trailers her shield is on the other side and she holds her sword in her right hand.

#14: That's correct. She appears ambidextrous - although primarily right-handed - in Final Fantasy XIII, but is frequently shown left-handed in promotional artwork. It's more noticeable in XIII-2 now that she also uses a shield.

You know what? When I first saw this, I thought it was really basic and pretty bad. But over time, looking at this and thinking about the game, I think it suits it perfectly. Good job.
