This is a really pretty box, so props to you for that. But unfortunately it doesn't really do the job unless you know the story. If it was a slip. It would be great and work well without the screenshots. But the screenshots are all lightning and no gameplay. The box is all lightning and no other FFXIII elements. And i do not mean to be super picky, but the image on the front is something i would use only for XIII-2 for the purpose of story clashings. There is no blurb and for me it doesnt do the job.
On the design aspects of it. It's absolutely well planned and put together. But in finality the greatest and only problems here are the blurb and the screenshots.

#2, Honestly, I never played the game myself so I am not too familiar with the plot or the characters. The reason I made this box is because of the front image. I found the artwork to be nice and of great quality, so I though why not make a cover for the game even if it is not entirely accurate.
I guess, I would ask to rate the design on this rather than accuracy.

#3, OK, the main issue is that the front is just a picture. Admittedly it is XIII-2, but as you've never played it, you could get away with it. What I'd reccomend was to cut the picture a little higher or meld it with an official XIII picture to fix it. What else I think is an issue is the logo. I feel it is too bland and far down the screen to impact the viewer at the first view. It really doesn't fit with the 'feel' of Final Fantasy with overzealous logos and such. For the back, the MASSIVE issue I have is with the mis-quote. I think that changing 'happier days' with 'hapiness' doesn't make any sense. Changing fear into hapiness.
It really is not your best work and is quite dissapointing that you didn't shine for what could have been a brilliant pink design.

So sad I didn't play the game yet. But, about your box, I liked the color choose you made for it. The colors really fits harmony into it
The back is ok, but I can see you could do more effort to it. I mean, it's not effortless, it's good but I'm saying that you could put more stuff on the back, maybe more background or something, not just black and a focusing image of (I don't know her name).
The front is pretty cool, with these lighting effects that reminds me of cherry tree petals.

#4, As I said before, I know very little about the game so don't be so picky.. :P
#5, I wanted the cover to be simplistic. Most of Final Fantasy covers are very simple. Mine is the same, except on the black background. :)
P.S. I love these long and big (that's what she said!) comments. Keep them coming!

I love the text on the back. The way it's presented: simple, nothing overly fancy, yet artistic in nature. The final words really should be "happier days", though, as otherwise the saying doesn't make the most sense.
The back, overall, is nice. Effort shouldn't be the only deciding factor when judging a design, despite still being an important aspect. I like it.
Although, I'm drawn to that image of Lightning, and how it fades to black so abruptly. Maybe increasing the size, or finding a different piece entirely, would allow the image to occupy more space, fade more smoothly, and also fix your "blank space" issue.
Just a suggestion, obviously it could work out horribly, but take it as you will.

Sometimes I feel there's something missing on your box and maybe it's a border. But it's just me, theres no problem with it having no border, really =p

Alright, I have updated the back cover of the box based on your guys' feedback. I change the quote a bit, changed few screens and replaced a different image on the top. Let me know what you think now about the cover!

Much better. I like.

I like it much better now that you've changed it.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked the update gentlemen. :)

I like it, it looks like Final Fantasy XIII: Ballad of Gay Tony.

#13, haha...thanks Ray!

I wonder, where did you get that quote from btw? And what's the name of the fancy font?
[ Reply ]
#15, I'm not sure which quote you're talking about but all of the text on the back, I found on other covers uploaded to the site. And the fancy font is called Vivaldi.

Please add printable version.

I dislike the fact that the front is practically only a picture link with elevated contrast. I also think you could've placed Lightinga bit higher, as the space betwen the top of her head and the border of the box is much larger than the space between her chin and the game's logo.
I'm not exactly a fan of simple backs, but I understand what were you going for. One thing I would suggest is that you tried to give the picture on the back's top-right corner a pink tone instead of making it completely pink as it's now; that way, it's match better the front's picture.
The cover looks great, but there's little things that bother me.

#19, Thanks for the feedback Manuel. I will probably update the cover in the near future.

I love the front. Even if it didn't take a lot of effort, it still looks good.
I don't like all the black space on the back. I think it would look better if the pink shards from the front were also on the back.

Alright...I have taken all the feedback into consideration and have decided to update the box.
Almost everything has been tweaked and modified, including the presentation.
Please view full size and let me know what you think about the update!

Wow this looks beautiful. My one nitpick is that I think the words on the back are too big. In my opinion you could have sized them down, and added more words. But yeah looks awesome, well done.

These updates, while minor, do much to improve the overall appearance of the cover. I can't hold off any longer, I have to favorite this one. So classy, elegant and while simple in execution, really quite lovely.

#23, Yeah, I know the words are pretty big but I did not want to have much text on the back, so that's why the words are bigger, so they can fill up more space.
#24, Haha..I have won over your fav. Nice. Thanks for the feedback sd1833!

A really stunning design. The colors are quite fitting. I agree with sd's assertion of elegant and lovely.

Much better. Worth a fav.

Looking at the other two versions of the box, it looks like you've improved it a lot with the little updates and you seem to have listened to critique very well. The front looks great despite it being simple and the back has gotten better with each update.
Good job.

I like the color scheme and simple design. The back seems kind of blank and I feel a better approach could have been taken towards the layout as it seems a bit generic. Overall, this is pretty good

#26-#29, Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm glad you like the updated cover and I feel free to leave any more comments or critique regarding this, or any other, cover.

Simply stunning.

I like the general simplicity on this, yet I believe you could have hold back on the pink just a bit, as it's just a tad too bright imo..
