Finally broke my artistic slump.. well, not much, I just managed to put the finishing touches on this.
But still, it's a little relieving to know I have one less wip on my HD.. (:
Anyway, yeah. Most everything was custom, unless obviously otherwise.
Enjoy it, my brothers!
(Hopefully I'll manage finishing the others, at some point or another..)
Not feelin' it man :-/ Sorry. Good to see you back and working, but it looks like you need a bit of polishing after the long storage just like the rest of us.
#4, Oh wow.. like, wow. I was all super proud of this and stuff.
I would say 'That's your opinion and I respect it' but that would sound like 'Wtf ever you say, I'm only listening to compliments'
So I'll instead ask, is there anything specific you can think of that needs changing?
#7, Ballsack. I was so happy with the way the text came out.. I always have way to much trouble with text, and it just kinda felt right this time.. But yeah, I'll keep criticism in mind.
#2, The others are in storage, they will most likely make it out eventually, I'm just not sure how I am going to finish them..
#12, No it;s not. In fact, I would prefer this more with either no text at all, or a simple script (with some quip or quote.) Try it man, it'll look much better.
I like the front, although the Hylian Shield isn't necessarily exclusive to Ocarina of Time. Something more specific, representative of the game in question would've been better. I really like that logo, though, and it's placement.
I can't say I'm a fan of the back, it's a step down from the front. The text is too crowded, and slapped on like an afterthought.
Wow, I have to say man, I really like this. I have two issues with it:
1) The size of the foliage on the sword and on the shield are the same from our viewpoints, but if you were to scale the shield down appropriately, then you'd have tiny ivy-leaves on it. I don't know if you used a brush or what, but for future projects you might want to experiment with changing up the size.
2) The foliage fades away in a lot of parts where you erased it, and the result are partially transparent leaves. So rather than being solid objects that have an end to them, they seem to be ghost-objects that fade into nothingness.
The text is plain, but I like that. I've really grown to become impressed by the amount of custom imagery you make for your boxes. It's a trait in a box-artist that I really admire and respect, and I think this is just a fantastic box.
#19, Thanks! :3
I totally agree on the vines, thank you for pointing that out.
I was aware of these issues, but I had little choice but to ignore this technical problem for the sake of the design. (Transparency)
I didn't even think about the size differences.. derp.
I love making custom pieces to my boxes, it's alot of fun IMO.
#26, This guy seriously needs to check out the wip section before posting to the main site..
I don't know what else to tell you.
It sucks. *attacks the author*
This box is absolutely amazing. I congratulate you on your epic skill. You've perfectly captured the spirit of the game. The ocarina on the side? OMG amazing! Dude if the 3DS remake had come with that cover art I would go buy a 3DS and the game, just to stare at the cover art. Don't listen to the critiques. This is a beautiful work of art, no flaws.
Absolutely amazing. Love the ocarina at the bottom of the spine, very nice touch and the front cover is fantastic. The back is great too, it really sets the mood of "special edition" as there's no health warnings and whatnot at the bottom.
First author fav and art fave of my time on the site. :3
i like this box too, but id like it much more on my new n64 plastic game case which is the entire reason i come to this website only to see that 99% of every box is just for concept and you cant actually download or print em. They really should have a filter search and two different sections of the site with the printable ones getting front and center and non printable being off to the side.

Amazing job. It has been awhile since we've seen a box from you, and you deliver an extraordinary punch. Simply awe-inspiring.

#4, Going to have to agree with this. The artwork itself all looks nice, but the text feels slapped on.

You're making the rest of us look bad!

As others have stated, I'm not a huge fan of the back text. Everything else looks fine, though.

#11, I was very reluctant to add text, but let's face it, it's necessary.

This looks pretty goddamn amazing - my only gripe would be the back text looks like it needs to be nudged away from the sword by just a smidge.
