I had a little bit of trying to decide on either unofficial or humor, but in the end, The Room is, in essence, laughing at itself.
If you haven't had the pleasure, The Room was the first film directed by hot filmmaker Tommy Wiseau. He raised $6,000,000 to fund the project, and in the end, was rewarded with one of the most unforgettable films of this past decade.
A drama about a successful man with everything, then losing it all, The Room features five main characters that all bring their A-game (or, more than likely, their F-game.)
It's a film you either take with a grain of salt or don't. If you do, it'll be one of the most rewarding, light-hearted films you'll see, but if you take it too seriously, you'll fail to see how creative Tommy Wiseau truly is.
Sorry to bump, but I feel like you're giving Tommy too much credit. This film was obviously just a piece of crap, and not a joke. Granted, it's still hilarious, but it's unintentional.
Also, "What a great party! You invited all my friends! Great thinking!"
If you are speaking on the back of the box, it's meant to be a joke, mocking him. If you mean my first comment, you have to admit, he pretty much fell into an unforgettable film because of how awesomely bad it is.
Plus, there is talk that it could possibly be converted to 3D, since he shot the film with a digital camera and film next to each other.
