Yay, you're backs are getting better! Good to see that you're trying new stuff, it works great.
But arrghhh, the effects are killing me. I know you explained the grid, but the scanlines/stars/grain need to be removed, or considerably toned down. Either way it's a great box with a solid design, good work!
#4, Don't hate me, but... I lost the file. Honest to God I was going to change all that after I finished the thing up and noticed how grainy it was, but the file won't shitting open. Needless to say I'm still pissed about that.
Nice cover, not as good as some of your other works, but still impressive. The top half of the front seems a bit plain and the logo is a bit hard to read.
#11, Can't see the fonts? Do you mean like the synopsis, features text? I must just have bizarre contrast/brightness settings on my monitor because in full view I have no issue reading them.
#13: Thank you, and I'm aware the front may seem a bit plain. That was 1/2 my plan, and 1/2 the result of there being so little material.
#16/17: Apparently Lightning's outfit is an unlockable in the game for Aya to wear, via download code or some other way I'm not aware of. It seemed like something you might find on the official cover, and it fit nicely.
#18: Yeah, reading the back text can definitely help, that's usually something I do.
The front is quite good and I love the screenshots on the back, but the rest of the back feels empty. I think if you made the text more visible, it would feel more full. For some reason, the blue looks really weird. It's not that I don't like blue, but it just doesn't feel right on this box. Maybe it's not bold enough, I'm not sure, but it doesn't work.
#22: Thanks for the critique, I appreciate it. I could try changing the back text to black once I have access to my desktop PC. As for the coloring, I made an alternate (in my original comment), I'm not sure if you'd prefer something like that.
#22, that's better, but I think it's the fact that it looks like a photo filter that you used to color which is throwing me. Personally, I feel that doesn't leave enough room for variation in the color scheme and as much as I like a monochromatic color scheme done correctly (not to say yours is wrong), but I feel like photo filters in general aren't really effective. They kinda of cast a pale *insert color name here* light on everything that rarely looks good. Like, on your Final Fantasy Dissidia box, the colors look unified, but it doesn't have that photo filter "fog" over it which I really don't like. Your composition skill is evident in this box and every box you make, and I know you can use coloration effectively, I just don't think it worked THIS time.
I just looked at the alt. color for a second time and it looks better than my last post might have led you to believe. However, it still has that "fog" I referenced. In my opinion, blues and greens are always tough to really nail although as I said, in general, I tend to shy away from using photo filters unless it's to just give a slight tint. That is, assuming you did, in fact, use photo filters to color this box. If not please correct me.
#27/28: Thanks for getting back to me, I'm always glad to hear critique.
Honestly, I didn't use any photo filters design this, but I understand what you're talking about, and looking back I should have done things differently in terms of color. I'll definitely be taking it into consideration with my next case, whatever that is.
I neglected to give criticism on this cover because I don't like it very much.
I think it's unnecessarily asphyxiated in scanlines, stars, lights, saturation and effects that don't need to be there. You've been doing this a lot lately on covers and it turns me off, it seems like it's what you rely on too much. I think it would look better without all of the effects, and back text is buried under all of it, making it a hassle to read.
It seems like your versatility in Video Game cover design is limited to games that you can only use these filters on, and I apologize for saying "filters", as I don't know what else to call them.
#33, I'd much rather you say you don't like it than not say anything at all.
Flexx has been on me about it before, and he's right. His previous comment really made me want to start some new designs that aren't loaded with unnecessary bullshit effects. Which is what I'm doing. I've been having a very busy life lately, so I don't know when I'll be able to upload anything, but I assure you it's not going to have a bunch of stars/scanlines/over-saturated effects.
Ehh, nothing special, fortunately this is still an enjoyable hobby. =]
Also, for absolutely no reason here's an alternate coloring to the front: link

Looks great as usual, logo is a bit hard to see though.

The main render looks like an older, badass version of Namine from Kingdom Hearts :o

Does everyone have Thursday off or is it always this busy? Anyways, looks great, though it would be nice if you turned down the brightness a bit.

It's not bad, but white text on bright backgrounds is never a wise choice.

Oh, I just realized the link in my original post is broken. I'll repost it when I get to my PC.
Sorry for double post, editing is still down apparently.

I get what you were saying but just pasting Aya's head on her doesn't make it look like an alternate outfit.

#25, I didn't "paste Aya's head" on anything, that's an official image from T3B's site.
