Well it's been about 2 months since I uploaded a real box, I thought I'd come back with my favorite 2-D sidscroller of all time. Sonic 3! Now, first thing you may notice about the actual box is a few things that only appeared in Sonic & Knuckles, the reason for that is I tend to think of them os one game, that's how I grew up with it, that's how it's meant to be played, with 3 characters, 12 zones, and a damned save funtion.. it's a complete package and it made a better box... :I
Also, alot of thought and effort went into this, I recolored every render specificly to match their in-game sprites, I did Robotnik's by hand and elmost everything else you see is custom.

This is really good. Looks like I've got competition for when I get around to doing Sonic 3. While I'm not favoriting it, I strongly considered it. I'm especially smitten with the back. I love the background image of the ocean, the island, the Death Egg, etc, and Metal Sonic MkII (I just made that name up. I forget what his canonical name is.) with Robotnik, it just looks great.
The front is nice too. I like the simplicity, with the scenery inside the Ring, and I also like that you very subtly included the checker pattern.
Overall really nicely done, man.

Awesome. The template looks a little wider than MD/Genesis official ones, but regardless, this is great. Great work mate.

I actually had to look at this box a couple of times before I decided to make a post. The simplistic white background was beautifully executed, a rarity on VGBA. The Render recolours are fantastic, especially the Robotnik and Mecha Sonic ones. I also didn't notice the Checkered pattern until my second look at it.

#28, Well.... not REALLY, he was more so trying to take the master emerald. Which of course was to power some big-ass machineary, which might possible, plausibley, eventually would be used to take over the... world? Angel Island? Who knows. There's only so much you can figure out with cutscenes that consist of no text, speach, or cinematics. (But that's what's so great about theses games)

#29, In Sonic 2, Super Sonic damaged the Death Egg and it fell out of the sky and (What are the odds?) right onto the floating island. Robotnik is trying to get to the Chaos Emeralds to help repair it and tricks Knuckles into occupying Sonic and Tails so he has the time to gather them.
Nevermind the fact that Sonic has all seven before Knuckles steals them all away in the opening scene. Knuckles probably doesn't know that Robotnik is after them and put them back into the "special zones" or whatever. I'd like to see Robotnik haul his fat ass through those sphere stages.

On the front, I love how the background is condensed inside the ring while the characters stand in front of it on the white background. Usually, a white background would be blank, but its simplicity fits perfectly here. Metal Sonic's hand reaching onto the spine from the back is pretty cool, too. :)

lol, I don't mean to bump, but I just noticed the Tagline under the first screen, "New Enemies" Right with the picture of Tails looking at the spinning carnival night zone collumns like a numfuck...
What? That's not funny? I see..
