I am two days late, shoot me. Anyway this is it, my birthday / one year box. I started this project a long time ago, because I love Paper Mario, and hate the fact that the third one in the series isn't a true third game. I made everything except three things, the back template, the logo, and the ersb. Everything else was made by me in Photoshop and or Illustrator. On the box you will see the characters Mario, Lumar - the Luma, Lawrence - the fat shy guy, Tarder - the Blooper, Sly Koopa - a Koopa, Boomer - the Bullet Bill, and Pokey - the Pokey. I really have to thank a lot of people, Thanks to Spiderpig24, Del337er, Sven, Spiner, Afifan, Silent Oblivion, MarioLee, YoshiStar, and anyone else who posted in the thread, I would not have been able to make it look the way it does had they not given me advise - Thanks Guys! Any way please tell me what you think. Comments are always appreciated.
#5, Thanks, but I doubt it will get much comments because the Paper Mario thing is getting old, though it is a bit depressing thinking about how much work went in to this, and see such a little response.
#11, I only did this with the template because I wanted to show off my work, and I felt that the back of the Wii template did not give you much room to work with, and the front is that way to match the back, that's my excuse. What do you think of the box?
This needs a lot more attention than its been getting. Sure this is not the best box out there, but the effort Roarshark put into it is worth a fav alone.
#14 your behavior right now makes me want to delete my fav. so what if it didnt get as much attention as you wanted? i thoght you said you didnt care if it made hall.
I "deleted" it because I disliked it, the more I looked at it the more something seemed off to me. I am working on a new version to update it, but once I finish it I will update.
#23, Actually it is I normally delete a box about 3 to 4 times before I finally just leave it. I am planning on updating this with a new box by Saturday at the earliest. Also I decided to update it with the old box, because I am working on a new project using this same idea.,
#12, LOL. It would look better with the regular temp believe me. Cause when I started using my temp like that some people seemed like they needed to do the same. I felt that this box would have been fantastic on the regular wii temp and you didnt even need any extra room.
Great effort man! I'm sorry I didn't help in the thread, but from taking a look at it, I can see you put an awesome amount of time and energy into this.
I love the colors and the layout for sure. The drawing look a little wonky, but somehow it adds to the charm of the design, and I really like how they work with things.
#29, I seriously think that it would look great on a normal temp. I mean the space that he needed wasnt really necessary. Like the curtain is alot of empty space up there as it is. But whatever.
#32, The front looks great on the normal template, its the back that doesn't, because I originally intended on having this on the official temp. What do you think of the design of the box, put aside the template?
#32, im kinda getting tired of you whining about people not using "proper" wii temps. isnt this place for displaying the art? but actually, i do kinda agree with jevan about the regular wii temp would look better.
#38, I think TMRD is right. If you look at the spine of any box the logo is facing towards the back. The way this one is, when you look at the spine you will be seeing the logo backwards.
It's easily your best case, no doubt about it. The colors are great, artwork has a nice charm to it, and you've put a ton of effort into this, obviously. The back is my favorite part, the arrangement of characters/screenshots is great, though the space in between the shots looks a little empty. The front could have done with some more half-tone, mainly on the grass the characters are standing on.
#36, Hmm whining? No. Im actually saying stuff that would make it look better. Cause what he did with the temp makes it look weird. And the Wii logo is blending in with the curtain.
#51, seriously you have ignored all three times what o have said. I have told you several times that I only used the non official so that I would have more room on the bakc. I even originally began work on the normal temp, and trust me it looked really good, but the back didn't have enough room for what I wanted, and it would look odd to have a normal front and custom back, so I made both custom, just stop complaining about it. Again j ask you, what do you think of the box, aside from the temp.
#53, I saw your comments and read them repeatedly. But just because you dont like the way your game looked on the normal temp doesnt mean other people wouldnt. Who's complaining about it? I just said it would look better on the original temp. What I think???? The drawings seemm a bit weird, like Mario's ear. The colors are fine but I dont like how the clouds have a shadow behind them.
#54, See it is more about the creators opinion than the viewers, like you said others may like it on a normal temp, but if I don't whats the point. Either way thanks for telling me your opinion.
Jevan, this temp is as unnecessary on 90% of your boxes as it is on his. Overall, this is great especially considering I've worked with Illustrator and know how much skill it takes to use properly. I give you props for using it to make an entire box. Great job.
#59, LOL. You see I came up with the temp LOL. Nahh I have no problem with it. But I see that it looks like he didnt really need the extra room. I wasnt really making it that big of a deal as most people were thinking.
#58, REALLY?!
Also in the future if you use this sort of temp again. Change the color of the wii logo its sort of hard to see. ;)
I don't care who came up with the temp, and I'm sure you weren't the first to use it anyway. It's really not that special and doesn't add the the look of boxes. I mean if you want to talk about a box that didn't need the "extra room" that this temp provides, we need to look no further than your latest Uncharted box or maybe your Prince of Persia box or maybe your Hitman box.
#62, I know exactly. I wish some people would have pointed that out to me. Just like im doing for him. But no one ever said it to me. But if you want to keep dragging this boring conversation on pm me instead of adding comments here.
But one thing I want to know is... How come your making a bigger deal out of this than RoarShark? He knows how to take criticism. Cause he sees what I mean. I dont care what temp he uses but I said it would look better with the normal one. Its an opinion. Nothing more.
I know and I respect opinions but it seems like you do this to everyone who uses this temp and it's irritating. It's an observation on my part and I decided to say something about it. Personally I like this temp, and if I made another box, I might consider using something similar. And in any case, I believe RoarShark made quite a few comments on you commenting on the temp as well. So sorry if I'm "dragging this out" but I had to say something, and I have, so I'm done.
#64, See the difference from my comments about this "issue" and yours is that I have basically agreed with what he has said, but then justified my decision to make it on this.
#64, Ok and I respect your opinion. But I dont only comment on people that use this sort of temp. Just some of them are really bad. This is probably the best one ive seen people use with this temp. Cause im not really the only person who thought that about the temp though. I mean go back through boxes and look at the comments.
#80, No they arent! I faved this because it actually looks quite nice. The artwork isn't the most professional, but somehow it looks nice like that. Like the characters are crayon-y and sketchy, like an actual drawing. It suits the Paper Mario style.
Color scheme is great too. Great layout as well. Definitely lots of effort too.
YES you posted it! Really flawless job, I've been following this forever and it came out incredible. Very nice job!
