Quite a while ago LK advised me to make a retro Final Fantasy box using Yoshitaka Amano's artwork, so I took his advice and started this box. As with a lot of my other boxes, I abandoned it. This week, with much time on my hands, I decided to finish it up.
I was going for a grand, epic cover to complement Amano's (beautiful) art while still keeping hints of "retro" style, and I think I even succeeded my own expectations. Hopefully you'll share the same reaction. ;)
Fantastic! Very elegant presentation and great color combination on the front with a nice focus. I like how you went for a more simplistic approach there.
The back design is perfection. The composition, typography, and colors all contribute to the "grand/epic" feeling you were going for - everything just flows amazingly well. I was actually hoping you would use that background artwork when I told you about this months ago. So you can just imagine how glad I am to see this! Easily my favorite box design on this site so far.
@Al, Thank you. Yeah, when I saw the back BG image I was like "This is it!", and I didn't even bother to look for something different. x) Same with the image of Kefka's Tower on the front. Amano is now definitely one of my favorite artists.
But your favorite box on this site? I feel truly honored.
So, speaking of favorite boxes.... make a new box NAO! >:O
