This design was originally created for competition purposes, but I'm presented it now in anticipation of the upcoming beyourtrueDESIGNS Winter Party, which is scheduled for December 29th to the 31st. I'm personally working on 2 designs for the party, and am very excited to see what everyone else has in store for the event.
This is a custom art design based off of Neil Marshall's 2008 film, Doomsday. The movie was insanely entertaining in my opinion, and I would honestly be very interested in playing a game based around it, (even if it sucks like so many movie games do.)
I went for a gritty comic book style with the artwork, and went into the design as presenting the tie in game as a stylistically alternative take on the live action movie. (Think Animatrix vs. Matrix I suppose). I used edited and filtered screenshots from the games Bullet Witch, and Full Auto. The game also comes with an instruction manual sized comic adaptation of the film.
Thanks as always guys for your support and comments, and heres hoping the Winter Party is an even bigger explosion of awesome designs than the last was!
No, just no.
The front have the most boring pose ever. The "maincharacter-infront-and-everyone-else-stand-behind-her/him-like-a-V".
The back is a bit better but a lot of unnecessary text.
Whats the point with "SURVIVE THIS", "BASED OF THE 2008 ACTION SMASH!", "INSANE ACTION AND DRIVING STAGES! and "COMIC BOOK SCENES RECREATE THE EXPERIENCE!"?
The manual thing, to the left is awesome thought. Would be awesome as the front. :)
#31 I appreciate your thoughts on the front "pose", and all I can really say is that it is what it is.
"Survive This" is the tagline, and the other text items you mention are some of what the game features. You'll see this on a lot of video game box designs. If I just had the description text on the back don't you think it would look a little empty, and not like an official design?

#2 Theres always time for boxarts man!
#15 Yeah thats my rendition of the main character from the film. She's very Faith esque, with some Kate Beckinsale from Underworld thrown in.
#27 Thanks man, and the tagline font is called "Bedbug".

I have absolutely no time for this.

#32, I just saw this movie, I think "Hungry? Try some of your friend." would have been a hilarious tagline, lol. Could work for Left4Dead as well.
Anyway, I personally love the front layout, the crowd in behind her completes the image of the UK flag layout you were going for.
I don't understand at all what Vbhth was saying, not to mention their name, lol.
I wish I could fav it again.

#32, Wow, you got patience of steel, brother. I would have been all over Vbhth's ass.
