Star Wars - The Original Trilogy box art cover

Didn't plan on making this anything spectacular. I know how simple these are, but I just felt like creating some covers for the original trilogy, hoping to capture the awe of Star Wars.

Although I do like these, they are just logos on a wallpaper... More could have been done imo

There's more effort done than slapping a logo onto a wallpaper here. All 3 of these images were only about 1/3 the height of the covers themselves, so I had to extend them the rest of the way manually. I know it's still not a lot of work (since for all 3 it was mostly sky) but I feel like just logos on an image isn't quite correct.

Like I said in the OP, these aren't really meant to be spectacular and I know how simple they are. But I just had these concepts in my head, so I felt like tossing them out there.

@Huegh fair enough man, like I said I do like them. Have you thought about doing each episode as a separate design with a back? Think they would look really nice keeping with minimal style

@Vince_1990 I got really close to it. This started out with me doing both the front and back for Star Wars, without plans of doing episode 5 or 6.

I had the front finished (what you see now) but I couldn't get the back right. I wanted to keep the same kind of minimalism and use of negative space as the front, but I couldn't find any art to flow with the front. I wanted to have the same feeling of awe and wonder for both sides. The only exciting thing I could find to put on the back was a space fight, but that didn't feel like it worked with the front, being a dark color scheme vs a light one.

I might come back to this and release separate ones, if I can find the right art to use. I also thought about doing ones for the prequels, so those are possible as well.

@Huegh Id be happy to try and help you find some more resources if you like? If you have a new hope front and back I think you should post it. I'm sure people would be happy with it

@Vince_1990 Ehh, I think I'm satisfied with the way it is right now. I'm not feeling too serious about this. It's just a chill, down-low sorta box. But I'll definitely revisit it if I have anymore ideas. Until then I'll just let this one sit.

The minimalistic approach when designing box art does work sometimes, although it can backfire tremendously. Sometimes the designer could lack the vision needed to deploy minimalism efficiently.

This, on the other hand is a great example of a minimalistic strategy that has been used decisively. Great work.
