Only two things I can point out here: you spelt lightsaber wrong (you spelt it "lightsabor") and the cutout of Maul on the spine of the Episode 1 box is a little choppy. Apart from that, this is incredible! I would totally buy this box set if it came out! Massive fav!
You made a lot of covers and the complete package itself is awesome looking. However, when you break it down to each cover individually, it's very basic. I do wish each front had a little more Star Wars style to them, but I understand that this was more of a quantity of quality submission.
I agree with Brettska, at first it really looks awsome, but uppon closer inspection, it's not very good.
Looke is low-quality, the statue doesn't look realistic at all (But it's looking great) and the stars looks really cheap.
The packaging is really great, but the boxes by themselves aren't that good at all.
It seems like this must have been a lot of work! It has some small issues with some images being lo-res, but the overall presentation makes it really look like it could be the real deal, incredible job ;)
As for the misperception with the “simplicity” of this piece the thing is, to pull off a design with simplicity as the main theme is at times, much more difficult to accomplish than working with designs/images which the public is used to associating with a film series such as Star Wars.
For example, the film series has been somewhat “plagued” with the cliché and at times repetitive package/box designs involving character collages. The posters by Drew Struzan are still my favorite but, when they overuse that style on almost every package design it gets to be generically boring and none amusing. The Star Wars Blu-ray sets did a collage with different images and color palates which worked better than what we’ve seen to date.
To end my comment I just wanted to try something new with this series. Although I used the usual characters as a design piece I felt that a new dynamic approach with simplicity and style was something worth trying out.
Hope you guys like.
