I'm trying new things with my designs at the moment, trying to find something that works. For my second subject of 2012 I chose Dark Souls, one of the most unforgiving, unrelenting, dastardly, brutal games I've ever played in my entire life.
With a death count of 94 I finally beat it after around 60 hours of gameplay.
The developers of this game are sadistic people...

Dark Souls Box Cover Comments
Comment on Leegion's Dark Souls Box Art / Cover.

One of the most refreshingly difficult games I've had the pleasure of enduring this generation.
I like the artwork you've chosen, on the front, but I wonder what the result would be if you were to flip the two. Have the deceased knight on the bottom, with the scenic image on the bottom behind him (rather than simply blended together).

That could definitely work. I'll give it a go.

I like the front but the back seems like a mess to me. The typography for description looks very simple and amateurish and it doesn't help that the color on front and back clash like day and night.
If you updated the back to match the front more, this could make for a pretty delicious cover.

A redish gold back huh? Could work I guess, as with what SD said, I'll try and update it to suit what you both have in mind.

Nice update. Great update. I'm digging the new back, and the knight looks so much more appropriately placed towards the bottom. I would have preferred if the pillar to his right were removed, but this is still good as is.

@sd1833 Thanks, I thought the Knight kneeling before the bonfire suited it better than the fight shot I used in the original. With the pillar, would've removed it entirely but the scenic picture was originally 820x394 and since the front is 1100 in width I didn't want to stretch it too far.

Cool. The front is really nice.

The front and spine are magnificient!
The back is interesting, especially what you've done with the screenshots. The only thing bothering me, is that the image you've used at the top doesn't go well with the image below in terms of contrast imo. it doesn't flow compared to the spine and front if you know what I mean :/

I attempted to up the contrast and lower the brightness, use a colour tone on it to make it match more. As the original colour was a bluish green I couldn't do much with the colour of yellow/red because it kept looking greener for some reason.
The contrast/brightness levels would've made it too dark.

@Leegion Okay, I see. That explains the variety in contrast, nevertheless it still looks damn attractive ;)
