I absolutely adore the front, but like others have said, the back seems almost unfinished. Perhaps adding another character alongside Sonic would make it look more filled out and still keep the style you were going for? Just food for thought.
The front is nicely laid out. Everything's compact in a neat little package, but without feeling too crowded or busy. The logo could be a bit more prevalent, but the way it's placed in Eggman's hand is clever. The back instantly gives off a rushed feeling, as if you were anxious to submit the design and didn't put a good deal of thought into the back. The blending between the grass in the original image and what you added yourself could be smoother (add a texture or two, maybe) and some sort of background or additional character would suffice.
