There's a lot of people who won't understand this. Origin is EA's download manager which is trying way too hard to be Steam. Using Battlefield 3, EA is forcing Origin down fan's throats.

The limited edition of Battlefield 3 contains Back to Karkand, which is an expansion with maps from Battlefield 2. The Physical Warfare Pack contains some weapons that you get early access to. On the Origin website it advertises that if you pre-order from Origin you will get early Beta access. WHat it doesn't tell you is that "early beta access" is only 2 days before the beta is open to the public.

I also threw the DICE logo in under the EA logo because it seems to me that EA it taking too much control over the game and doing many things that DICE wouldn't approve of.

Thank you beardedwalrus, I used your PC template as a base for my Origin template.

I actually began buying new components for my computer (GPU, working on a new CPU) specifically for this game... Which would have been the first FPS I bought new, but now I'm not going to buy it for a few months. I hope EA loses tons of PC sales because of this move, to be honest. It's funny how they seem to be the biggest voice in having problems with Steam, as they are also their biggest competitor now... If they pull this shit for Mass Effect 3 as well (which I'm guessing they will...) I'll end my purchases of EA games with that one.

Sure, you can say how one person will change anything... It won't. But, I know there are others out there who feel the same way, and now I'm sure Modern Warfare 3 might get a little increased sales number on PC because of EA's idiocy.

If you hate Origin so much, and you don't want a physical copy, buy it through Amazon download and put a link through Steam.

I'm no fan of Origin, not in the slightest. So obviously I'm okay with this.

It's times like this I wish DICE wasn't a part of EA. Thankfully I'm getting this on PS3.

I think trying to rival steam is like punching a brick wall. Also I'll be picking up Modern Warfa-*shot*

#8, Whenever I go into my local Gamestop I don't even see any PC games. It's also a lot more convenient to download them.
