I am a huge fan of Pop Art and Pointillism, so I kinda immediately fell in love with Lichtenstein back when I first learned about him. When I saw this week's session I was sure I could make something fit with Lichtenstein's style.
I was originally planning on doing a Metroid box, but Lichtenstein always depicted a girl who was upset, or in danger; Samus is always depicted kicking ass, so it wouldn't have looked right. So I thought Peach or Zelda would make more sense. I decided on Peach when I found a pic of her crying.
After that it was a matter of redrawing her and some other elements from her game and recoloring them with dots and lines to match Lictenstein's style. I think it mimics his style very well.
Does anyone know if Manuel Alejandro's DS temp from this link is Printable? I might add my first every printable.
Â…and as I see you did improve... however you still need to learn a lot about typography ;) the text on the back for example is way to small for that font and for it's length. it's also too close to the images (screenshot and mountain). headline on the back is about to perish - you should make it more prominent.
A box for this weeks Expression Session. Mimicking the look of Lichtenstein.
