Hello everyone, and welcome to yet another box of mine.
I've been working on this box for a little more than a week, and this is probably one of my highest efforts up to date.
The concept is very simple. I wanted it to look as if a little sister schribbled/doodled on a piece of paper for the front, and for the back I wanted to make it look as if an 'little' sister who has been in rapture for some time started drawing big daddy's on the wall.
As you may have noticed, i wanted to express the fear so obviously visible in Bioshock, only from a little sister's point-of-view.
This was going to be my fall-party box, but as the date isn't set, i just had to post this.
Thanks ALOT to everyone who commented on my WIP thread, and special thanks to Ziggy for critique/inspiration,Jack for being supportive and Dan for helping me with some fonts =]!
I know i'm no Drakxxx, so my drawings are nowhere near good, but i enjoyed the process nonetheless.
I apologize for not checking out your WIP on this. I would have loved to have seen this in progress, but I have been swamped with freelance stuff recently, which is both a blessing and a curse.
I love the creativity, and the sketches really do personify the whole Bioshock concept a lot.
#13, Horrible is an overstatement, bad or unappealing is the proper thing I should have said. The reason I think that is because It is plain and honestly boring. If it were any other user, no one would like the back, but because it is Ayron, or a blue rank, or high ranking user every one loves the back. It is missing something that would pull it together like a big daddy, or little sister, or even a splicer just to complement the front, which is amazing. But obviously it my opinion.
Ayron, I have to say this again. I love the idea, and you executed it quite fantastically. personally I had something different in mind with back, but this is another interpretation of my idea for the back, and it works quite well. Also how you made the edges of the slipcover is really cool, and not so plain as before! Overall I give you a 9/10, and I have to fav+ this box.
#19, It is nothing against you and I apologize If I have offended you, not was not what I was trying to do, and you have never acted like you are superior, I was just pointing out that some members look at the artist rank rather than box its self. again Its just my opinion that no one else shares except me.
Sure is different! LOL ---- I really like the front with all the writing and drawings etc. I think the back could have been better, and I think you should have stuck to the front "look".. filling in all the black spaces with strange writing. Nice job however, and certainly strange ;)
anyways, I like what you have going and I get what you are going for but, I feel it could have been pulled off better. The back looks uneven to the front and there are a lot of other fonts out there that are better, that you could have used.
I think it's a nice design, and the idea of a doodle is good.
However, if the front and back suggests that the girl is scribbling/doodling, the text shouldn't be a font. If you look at each letter they are exactly the same. If the little girl is scribbling letters then every letter would look different, and if there are no lines then they won't be sitting on a perfect line.
If you want to go beyond that, the word Shock doesn't literally need a spark going through it to be more visually vocal, it can have a voice even if you suggest that the girl scribbled it in a haphazard way that presents a shock to the viewer's eye through size space and movement.
Overall handwriting the lines would benefit the piece very much, it would make the piece more organic and further highlight the other work you put into it.
It is amazing all I can say is that you should make a printable version with the xbox logo and other official stuff from the box design so that it can be used as a really cool creepy and authentic looking cover (huge fan by the way)

#17, I find that statement horribly offensive roarshark. I'm not one to be judged by rank, and I've always acted as everyone else.
Thanks everyone.
