Just changing a box into a line drawing is a pretty cheap way to get a result with two colors only. Don´t get me wrong, but you did not even put enough efford into it to reduce the loss of quality. BTW: The black in the palette is a diffrent one than the black on the box ;) The box got 040404 and the other one got 000000. The one in the reflection is 020202. And is it true UK packages (I do think it is one) got the "German Nintendo" address on the back?
Did the other elements, like Wii-logo, reflection and background, count as well? Just asking ´cause there are a bit more colors than. Sure it`s just 1-2% diffrent, but it`s still a diffrent color. O__o The whole CMYK and RGB stuff is confusing within this contest. After all every printed package is "4"- colors only (CMYK) unless it got some special colors like silver, gold, etc.
#40, just ´cause the "5 colors" can be seen from two points. if you would like to print the package you could go with cmyk and one of those special colors like pantone (or whatever you want), or you use just 5 of the special one (white does not count since it is nothing). in rgb... well...

This is really a sticky situation with really unfair circumstances. Had everyone known we were allowed to upload a non-contest restricted box, then apply a color limitation filter to it (Which severely degrades its quality) and then WIN the contest due to the original box (Which wasn't eligible for contest entry) then I'm sure everyone would've done this.
I don't think very many people would be willing to favorite or value the second version of this box, which is grainy, unsubstantial, and overall badly presented. It's more than clear that most of the favorites that went to this box were due to the original version.
I love it, ADFD, but it's not fair to the other contestants.
#42, That's what I was getting at and asked about (Re: #26), but no one had a problem with it. There were a bunch of favorites for version 2 and I don't think it was in the MasterWorks until v2. It was only a day after.
I know version 2 is crappy quality and it was a quick attempt to re enter the contest. i'm just as suprised as anyone else. In my defense, i got more than 50% of faves after the update.
I don`t think it is unfair ´cause everyone was free to make it that way - or was there a rule against it? However I do think quality should be part of judging the contestants and... well you know the deal about this one ;)
About your defense: You got 178 "fans"... "Fans" do fav almost everything the artist is posting ;)

Why is everyone so pissed off that this won, so who cares that he had to edit it after submitting it, to get it to fit the requirements, as long as it was before the deadline, which it was. This won fair and square, and I think most people who are complaining are just mad that theirs did not win. Congratulations by the way ADFD.

In the 5color competition, each different shade counts as a different color. Hence the commotion on this box.
This is not too bad. Perhaps could have done with a couple of other tweaks like having the official nintendo seal in gold to break up the monotone, but otherwise a very nicely constructed effort.
#65, This was for a 5 colour competition, meaning only 5 colours were allowed, therefore alldreamsfalldown couldn't have made the official Nintendo seal gold.

Black and white do count. They are in the example entry and I said that different shades of gray/etc wouldn't work...
I removed the entry. You can reapply the tag if you reduce the colors.
