Ok, this is my submission for the Tried and True comp. the premise of the comp is to take a game (this round was Sonic) and create a box different from the others for that game. Basicaly, this is a remake the classic Sonic The Hedgehog, Sega should totally do this, anyways, enjoy!
#2, it is a remake, not just a port, so I figured they should add some more levels, and you could use wifi to race people all over the world, and I didn't Sonic Team develop the original Sonic The Hedgehog? (I could be wrong) so I figured they shoud develop the remake, and sorry about the grammar, I'm not the best with grammar, and why couldn't it be Dr Eggman (just curious) but thank you very much for the fav!
Firstly this game should be called Sonic The Hedgehog and not just Sonic.
Sega logo too big.
No need for a Sonic Team logo on the front as I doubt they would develop it anyway.
The back has slight grammar mistakes.
It should be Dr. Robotnik and NOT Dr. Eggman
I dont recall this game ever having over 40 levels.
How would this game be wi-fi exactly?
More variety in the screenshots would be nice rather than two from the same zone.
Despite all these flaws I have mentioned above, I still actually really like the box because it has a nice-retro feel to it and its quite pleasant to look at so fav.
I like this a lot man. It's retro and it's creative. using a screen shot was an interesting choice for a front image, and it worked very well with your design here. Great job!
#2, Remakes are allowed to have different titles. I think "Sonic" would be perfectly acceptable as a modern remake for the original game, not only as a means of differentiation, but also for style.
Sonic Team developed the original games, as well as the modern games. Sonic team has been behind every core Sonic game ever, if I'm not mistaken. Why WOULDN'T they do the remake?
Also, while I agree that Robotnik is better than Eggman in every way, if a remake was made, it would unfortunately be Eggman that took precedence as his canonical name.
#10 Your saying Sonic Team has been behind every core game but a remake for the DS wouldn't exactly be a 'core' game now would it? It would be a spin-off like Sonic And The Secret Rings or Sonic Rush which Sonic Team did NOT develop. Also you should stop nit-picking at my nit-picks =P
#11 Why are you thanking him very much exactly? Is there something I'm missing?

pretty good! but the pattern of the squares hurts my eyes. xD

Sonic's shoe colors are reversed on the renders. I'm surprised Cerium didn't say anything, the Sonic devotee he is.
Too much checkered area on the front. Also, the render of Robotnik is from Sonic 3 and that bothers me. Typography is bland.
Nice effort, though.

#3 If you insult the brown/orange chequered square pattern then you are NO longer a Sonic fan.
Good day to you sir.

#16, Good points, I had forgotten about those.
I certainly wouldn't discount the possibility of Sonic Team being behind a hypothetical remake, though.

Well... 50/50:
The good:
~It is well put together.
~It has a nice feel to it.
~It would be better than Sonic 1 GBA (LOL).
The Bad:
~The reflection is a tad off.
~The front image needs a little more work.
~Just "Sonic"?
And the just plain ugly:
~Sonic's shoes... wtf?
