Paper Mario: Legend of the Mystic Fountain Box Cover Comments
Comment on YoshiStar's Paper Mario: Legend of the Mystic Fountain Box Art / Cover.
Okay, finally done.
I'm a HUGE HUGE Paper Mario RPG fan. I didn't like Super Paper Mario as much as the traditional RPG type Paper Mario, so I decided to make a sequel of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door for the Wii with brand new partners, a whole new world, and a completely different environment and story. I worked harder on this then my usual boxes cause I just love Paper Mario so much. I'll tell you what all I did :
1) I edited a 3D Shyguy and made him in the Paper Mario style as a partner.
2) Edited a Dry Bones render and made a female one for a partner.
3) Made a Goomba gangster guy all by myself (used teeth and eyes from real Goomba, but edited quite a bit)
4) Edited a boo to make that weird sad boo partner with the whacky hair.
5) Made the logo all by myself from scratch on Photoshop. I love making Logos, haha.
6) On the back, I made the two screenshots quickly. The first one has a background from De Blod, which I edited and added black borders to and added Mario and stuff there.
7) Other screenshot I made by myself except for the renders and the theatre curtains.
Aaand a MAJOR CREDIT to everyone who helped me out in the Critiques forum. This would've sucked if it wasn't for you guys, haha.

Whooa, crap, that was a lot of favs and comments. I just went to the shower and came back ...
Thanks guys!! Any suggestions for small things to change? What do you guys think of the back? I'm a bit uncertain as to whether I like it or not.
EDIT - Btw, help me come up with names for the characters just for fun, haha. For the female dry bones, I thought of 'Shy Bones', hahaha, yeah, that sucks.

Anyway, the box itself is top notch, but there's a small flaw in the presentation... The reflection for the Wiimote that Mario's laying on is a little... off.
But still, I shall fav this.

#16, Okay, just updated. Got rid of the reflection, cause I really can't seem to get it down right ... Oh, also edited some minor stuff like the scar under the Boo partner's eye .. I thought it didn't look good. Also changed the weird faded background in the back (cause in the last one you could see donkey kong on the left). Also added the text 'jump' for the second screenshot.

It's awesome, for sure. But I don't think this fits the style of the game. I mean, Paper Mario is a great colourful game, this just doesn't resembles it. The Paper *character name* renders are awesome though!

#21, Thanks for the comment! I actually wanted to keep the front cover a certain theme, so I picked the icy winterish theme, because it matched a bit with the whole 'mystic fountain' idea. Just like I chose the winterish icy theme, in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, they chose the ancient brownish theme for the front and back. I actually think this is a bit brighter and more appealing then the colors of Thousand-Year Door, haha.

Of all the boxes I've commented on, this is the very first one to become one of my favorites!
It's simply cool, really well done, and creative!
Also it's cool for the fact that you can go to the BeanBean Kingdom, 'cause I think Superstar Saga is the only game where you go there.
