A few things. First of all, please don't use IGN quotes on Nintendo boxes. Nintendo has never, and will never, put a review quote on their boxes. As far as the back... no real other problems with the back. It's a unique design, and other than the random mushroom over the warpipe, I don't see anything wrong with it.
It's the front that my issue is with... It's empty, first of all. Really empty. The character layout is a bit odd, as well... Bowser, in the middle, with a weird blue filter on him... doesn't really work. The front should be reworked, to match the back.

First of all, I know next to nothing about Nintendo. This box was kinda hard to make as I don't like Mario at all. I only know of Bowser, Peach, Luigi and Mario. I dont really know how the typical package is designed, and therefore have no clue about review quotes. Bowser doesnt have a filter on him as well. I'll still update it a bit.
