This is a great concept, and even at the low quality it comes off as being novel and cute.
You have a lot of great ideas, but I believe they might be getting overlooked because of the poor execution.
The GIMP or Paint.net programs can both be downloaded from trusted sites. They can't possibly contain any viruses.
You should ask whoever you need to for permission to download one of these, as I would honestly think your boxes could go somewhere if you worked on you're delivery.

#4 Credit or not, it wouldn't make much since for you to post someone else's work.
Honestly you can only do so much with MS Paint, and reasonably effective graphic design isn't among them.
If you really want to do this kind of thing, (which I assume you do based on how much content you submit)-you should explain to whoever you have to explain it to, that you need to download a program for doing artwork. Have them read what ever they need to read on the GIMP or Paint.net homepage, and download it themselves. I'm sure you have a virus scan on your PC, have them scan the file before you install it.
It's kind of like begging mom for a PS3, only easier, becasue it's FREE!
