Can't seem to find the paper used for printing anywhere. It's like brochure paper, right?

Not all the covers on the site have printables. Try searching for different cover from a different designer and you might find a printable.

    Now simply print!
Alright, so I tried your "A4 method", and used it over at my local Fedex Office. The first time around I f**k'd up and I ended up printing out too small a cover, but I re-tweaked my print settings and I'm really happy with what I got. It's still a tiny bit smaller than a normal cover art sleeve but it looks astounding, I'm just pissed that I ended up paying for that first bad cover lol.

Btw sorry if the images are too big or are kinda funky, I used my scanner and resized them.
Also if you don't recognize the boxart, that's because I haven't posted it yet! XD

[Btw to anyone else who would like to know.]
Just some information to anyone who was thinking about using Fedex/kinko's or whatever they call themselves now. When you talk to a representative they tell you that a full-page color print should only cost $0.59, which sounds like a steal, but that only applies to using their copy machines and the only image file types that they accept on them are .PDF's .

If you're going to want to use .PNG's or .JPEG's you'll have to use their little computer stations that they have set up on the side. You'll have to load $ onto a card and use this card to activate your session on the computer, they have a set price listings for various needs, which vary in pricing from $0.28 a min to $0.80-something a min.
I ended up using the Design setting, which cost about $0.63 a min, because I needed to use Photoshop just incase I needed to fix anything before printing. I'm happy I did, because I did need to move my images around a bit, but in the mean time not one of the employee's would help me out. I was stuck there having to figure everything out on my own, I ended up wasting 10 min trying to find out where I load my own paper, which btw they charge you more to use theirs.
And just to let you know they didn't tell me till my session expired, but each color print form the work station is about a dollar each.

Overall if you have your information ready before hand, then Fedex is awesome, but for someone like me who doesn't have a lot of spare cash, this was almost a complete waste of my time. The only redeeming thing that happened was that I got to print out my case, and it looks awesome. I'm still going to go back, but at least this time I'll be prepared!

Pan I love your PE box, did you ever make one for PE2?

Btw guys I had another "fun" trip to Kinko's today:
Apparently if you have an employee help you print something out and you have legal text on your box, they will refuse to print it for you, due to "Copyright Infringement", because you've stated that the box/original art/game belong to whoever, and so You can't do anything with it.
I tried to let him understand that this was for no one elses' benefit but my own, that was the whole reason I made them in the first place, but I ended up getting the third degree for it for a while today while I was there. Although after we came to an understanding that he wouldn't do it because he could loose his job, and blah blah blah, he told me blatantly that if I wanted to use the Computer stations and pay $0.35 - $0.65 a minute and print them out myself, that it was perfectly fine. He also stated that if I removed the "legal tags" (Legal text/info at the bottom of the case and the dev logos), that he would then be able to print it out for me.

Bastard treated me like I was a f#*king NARC, and then just flips a b!tch. WTF?!

Btw the same guy told me that A4 documents are a European measurement, and that their machines wouldn't print them out properly, he told me that I had to resize everything down to 8X11 if I wanted it to print out.

Is what he said true? Because I printed out my PSU:Complete using an A4 sized doc, and all I had to do was cut the white trim off the edges and it was fine. Was it the fact that I used PS to print it out, or does this guy not know what he's talking about? Or did I magically not fuck up whilst printing out my cover in an awkward way?

[Btw sorry for the rant, but this pissed me off; I also wanted to get some answers about printing and A4 docs aswell]

No I haven't, that PE box was actually made pretty recently. I love my local office maxx because they are literally the only place in town that doesn't give me ANY crap about legal/copyright images. Also I have been printing there for about 3 years, so if anyone new shows up I'll instantly ask to speak with the other employees who have been letting me print all this time.

Awesome to know, maybe I'll go down to mine, it's just down the street too. I just figured since Kinkos was closer it would be easier, I guess I've learned my lesson.

Btw do you have to pay cash or use a credit/debit card whenever you print out your boxes? Only reason I ask is that kinkos will only accept Credit/debit; unless you load $ on one of their cards.

You can use debit or cash. I went to kinkos once and got told not I couldn't print copyrighted images (had Mario on the boxart) and I never went back. Went to Office Depot and got told if I got written permission from Sony(was printing a PS2 cover) that I could print there. Office Maxx most likely follows the same rules, the employees at mine are just cool about it.

Cool hopefully the employee's over at my local store are just as laid back.
What's the rate for printing for you? (sorry if you stated it before in the thread.)

And has anyone ever tried contacting any of these companies to get permission?
I always wondered how they could prove or not if you had consent from Sony or whoever, do they send you some kind of framed notary stating you are legally able to do this, or is it just an e-mail saying "Yes"

Because I actually contacted Steelbook in order to make my ZOE box real, and they told me that if I made a layout they would look into making my order. I only later found out after the third email that I would have to order 100+ cases and that each case would only cost about 2/3 Euros to make.
Honestly I though about actually making this order, I figured if I did I could send one to everyone here, and then one to Hedio Kojima! XD But that's just a fools errand, albeit awesome, but still foolish.

Me and Masloff tried that too, as soon as we heard only boxes of 100, we said to hell with that idea! We did, however make his own steelbook with some spray paint, sticker paper, and clear coat.

My imPress supervisor and I are pretty close, and he is cool with me printing off my boxes there, but usually he doesn't touch any other material that has a copywrite just because our store manager is kind of an ass and would flip out if he did. All I can say is if anybody goes to OfficeMax to print off covers, just be as kind and courteous as you can and if they mention the copywrite, just tell them you didn't know about it and see if you can skirt the rules a little bit. If our store is like any other store, our entire imPress staff are young people (minus the imPress supervisor) and don't really care much at all.

Awesome to know. Thanks for the info and heads up guys, I think I'll make my way down to Office Max later on either this week or next.

I'm gonna be printing out my Uncharted 3 cover soon, problem is I am out of black ink. I'm gonna get some more tomorrow.
