What type of paper do you guys use to print your stuff out?
Huh?
I went to Kinkos and asked for glossy. They had a bunch and gave me a big book with little swatches of paper. I just picked one. Maybe they'll do the same for you if you ask?
It cost me four bucks to do three covers, which I think is fair, since the ink and paper would cost me quite a bit more if I'd done it myself (printer sucks).
And I'm trying to explain that it hardly makes a difference, glossy make look slightly shinier when printed, but once it's in your DVD case behind plastic, it looks the same as a non glossy print would. If you go to a professional printing place, they will ask what kind of paper you want, and you can test them for yourself. Glossy/Matte prints usually cost about as much as 3-4 normal pieces of paper though.
Nice. I really need to print some of mine out. BTW did anyone here use any of my printables.
Its not just about the shine. On normal paper drops of ink spread out when they hit the paper, and so the colors bleed into one another, resulting in a loss of quality. The loss, of course, isn't severe, but that should be up to each individual to evaluate.(For some people, there's hardly any difference between bluray and dvd)
Personally, I find the difference well worth the price(and so do my friends after a demonstration.)
For those that do take glossy make sure you dont take the ones that are too fat (about 150gsm should do it), and set all options right on the computer.
Dont have a camera with me right now, but ok, ill do it first thing tomorrow
Its not a problem.Glossy paper has a layer of plastic between the coating and the paper which is there to keep all color on the surface. All plain papers have a certain amount of absorption/bleeding, but because the end result depends on so many things(quality/type of paper, quality of inc,quality/type of printers etc.) I'm only suggesting that each person try out both of these, so that they see what the difference is for them.
