I downloaded (I'm not going to say bought because that would be a lie) Final Fantasy 3 for iOS and I'm really enjoying it so I wanted to get into the FF series by getting some console games to decide if I like the 3D games. I haven't played them yet so hopefully they are good.

Final Fantasy X is a god among RPGs. Easily my favorite 3D Final Fantasy.

....It's one of the best-selling Final Fantasies of all time, and a favorite among most FF fans (excluding me, my fav is 7.)

EDIT: You must be thinking of X-2. Now that one was, by my standards, awful. What a disappointment.

I though X was considered the worst too... I'm no fan but compared to VIII, X was awful. I got about an hour in and stopped there. VIII I got near the end of Disc 3 (after about a year) and my save corrupt so I thought 'Fuck it' and got rid of them both

I feel X-2 gets a lot of undeserved hate. The story was awful and Yuna was effectively ruined, yes, but it had a fun combat system and from a gameplay standard was pretty great.

I hear it's the most unorthodox, or something like that. I tend to hate JRPGs so I picked the most distant sounding game in the series to start me off.
