Not really comparable games, since GT/Forza are sims and this is an arcade racer. But yes, Midnight Club games are very awesome.

Yeah it's just a matter of preference. I happen to really like the realism in both GT5 and Forza. If you are into customization, you should try out Forza 3 or 4. By far the most customization in any racing game, and you can play with both an arcade or realistic style. However, there is no free roam mode so that is a drawback.

For me that either goes to Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing or Forza 3. (Mainly cause they're the only 2 I've played other than 1 race on GT5)
