Bought "Plants vs Zombies" today. It's the first PC game I've bought in like... ten years. So this was a big deal for me. And it was SO worth it. I haven't had this much fun playing a video game in years. The game has so much personality. Each of the plants and zombies seems to have their own personality, and finding out the best combinations of each to use is a ton of fun.

Why did you buy it? It's free online.

    1) My internet connection is shit
    2) It said it had "NEW Bonus Content!" because it was the Game of the Year Edition
    3) Call me old-fashioned, but there's just something about owning a physical copy of your game that you don't get through downloading it or playing it online.

    1) True you said that before
    2) I saw that, but if that's enough for you to buy it then fine
    3) I like owning a physical copy of things too,but you could always print out a cover (well not for PC games though)

    Carry on.

It's just pathetic to have a game digitally and print a cover of it just to "own it physically".
Still, I've done things like that.

I actually haven't done it yet for anything I own digitally, but it's a nice "proof of purchase" or to have it as part of a collection.

    Why is that pathetic?

I follow an unwritten law of owning physical copies of music albums if I really enjoy what's on it. Makes it seem to myself that the music on there is worth the admission to own a physical copy, even though I'll never actually play it through the CD player.

I don't see how owning physical copies of things is pathetic. In fact, many people own physical copies of games because they install faster than downloading online.

    I might get this:

I'd have to get it used, because it's new price is $160.

It includes The Legend of Zelda (NES), Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (NES), Ocarina of Time (N64) & Majora's Mask (N64), and it includes playable demo of The Legend of Zeld: The Wind Waker.

There are emulation issues with Majora's Mask, but it generally does feel comfortable playing that game with a GameCube controller. The rest of the games have little to no issues, except for infrequent freezing on OOT.

Majora's Mask freezes more frequently than OOT, but not on an abundant occasion where the game is left unplayable. The sound syncing issues are noticeable, though.

I got that disc when I bought a used copy of Mario Kart: Double Dash a couple of years back. didn't even mean to buy it, got it "for free" by the sales-guy.

    It happened something like this:

*Puts new copy of Mario Kart: Double Dash on counter*

Guy behind desk: "You know, We have a used limited edition of that game out back for the same price if you want it."
    Me: "What's special about it?"
Gbd: "You'll get a couple of zelda games in a bonus disc."
    Me: "Iäll take that, then."

    Ii was strange...

I own Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, Oracle of Ages, and Twilight Princess. I've played Phantom Hourglass.

Why is no one taking advantage of the Steam Summer Sale?
