I don't usually post boxarts, but I saw this at another forum and just HAD to post it.

OMG I was reading an article about that in Nintendo Power. It looks like it's gonna turn out ot be a crap game anyway, it's called bikini zombie slayers... >__<
I love how neither are in bikinis
What the hell??
No, but seriously, what the fuck is this? Are these girls pornstar zombie hunters or something? A scandily-clad girl in a cowgirl suit and one in school uniform, wielding samurai swords.. and the game is called "BIKINI zombie slayers"... this is really messed up.
You guys should see the movie based off the game.

Yeah, Onechanbara is part of the Simple game series in Japan by D3 Publishers.
Every now and then we get one of these Simple Series games stateside as something else. (Back in PS1 days those games like "Billiards" and "Shooter: Space Shot", were originally entries in Japans Simple 1000 series.) The UK market saw a decent amount of the Simple 1500 Series games (which was D3's simple series on the PS2 console) ported over. Among them is this series, Onechanbara, which is known as "Zombie Hunters" and it's sequel "Zombie Hunters 2". Oh yeah, and the UK saw a version of "Zombies vs. Ambulance", another Simple 1500 gem, which is a game about exactly what it's title suggests... running over hordes of zombies in an ambulance you can trick out.
I have the Japanese import of the first Onechanbara, which is actually a decent amount of fun. I can't really understand the plot, as I can't read kanji, so yeah, I'm kinda confused as to why these women would battle the legions of the undead in their underpants...(even if i could read the language, I doubt an explanation is even given) - the game just has you running around maps, hacking zombies apart with a katana. I kind of plays like Dynasty Warriors.
I guess it's known as the Simple Series because all the games are undeniably simply, and are usually released at a budget price.
Another Simple series favorite is Earth Defense Force, which saw it's sequel on Xbox 360 (fortunately came out in USA and I believe in the UK) -if any of you guys played that, you can pretty much get a good idea what the simple series is usually about, simple, at times mindless, but usually fun.
