I was at Books-a-Million yesterday, reading oodles of books/magazines, when I came across a copy of "Game" magazine (Or something like that) with a Sonic Unleashed cover story, it had a five or six page interview with one of the developers for the game, let me summarize for you:

Sonic Unleashed is being created by a team that is 100% new. NOBODY on this team worked on past Sonic games. I see this as good.

The game is being made in hopes of completely renewing people's faith in Sonic. The interviewee mentioned that he knows Sonic has become pretty disappointing, and that the games are full of flaws, he wants to change that.

3D sidescrolling can transition into full 3D gameplay seamlessly mid-stage.

Music is being composed by the guy that did Sonic Rush. (The only exception to the aforementioned "New crew.")

I just woke up, and I can't really remember much else, but it overall sounds very fruitful. Reading the interview enthused me about a game I was completely skeptical about before. I'm very excited now.

Aw man, all of that sounded awesome except for the Sonic Rush composer. That game had such a lame soundtrack, I usually muted it when playing because it was DEAFENING. Other than that, this is great news.

Can you really listen to "Unknown from M.E." and tell me that you disliked the music from Rush?

I can see why you might not dig it, I loved it, though, and one good thing: I wouldn't be embarrassed to be listening to it (I love Sonic soundtracks, but by God, they embarrass me to no end.)

what song is that? I don't think I've heard it. Which game was it from, I only know the names of the songs from the main series (Heroes, Adventure 2, etc.). Sonic music has been lame ever since the 06 game. Secret Rings had possibly the worst soundtrack ever SHAT. Well, 06's was ok. Kinda. I wish they could've remixed "I Am" instead of "All Hail Shadow" for Shadow's theme, since the latter was the Hero Theme from Shadow's game, and it's much more upbeat than the former, so it makes him seem more of a regular hero than an anti-hero. That theme probably would've suited Sonic, if the lyrics weren't character-specific, but whatever. I didn't mind the Riders soundtracks though, some of the tracks were cool but I generally dislike disco/techno music.
