Default I've Lost All Faith in Nintendo...

    http://ds.ign.com/articles/865/865582p1.html

    Seriously? SERIOUSLY?!?

First My Word/Spanish/French Coach, Vision/Brain Training, Big Brain Academy, Wii Fit, and the largest load of licensed Disney games that I've ever had the misfortune of laying my eyes on, and now this? Screw you Nintendo. Screw you. If I didn't like Smash Bros so much, and hate shooters even more, I would get an Xbox just to keep you from making a profit from me.

You're all a bunch of greedy assholes...turning out new colors of a system as soon as it should go down in price, just to keep it expensive...coming up with a new version with a better screen, when you could have done that with the initial version. I stood in line on release date to get the old bulky platinum DS, and then you reward me for my loyalty by coming out with a better version in a ton of different colors? You're very, very close to losing a customer just because I'm pissed off that I couldn't get the Spice Gamecube that only released in Japan, or the sleek white DS Lite because you didn't release THAT as the initial DS, or because the Wii is only in one color, until it should go down in price, and then you'll announce a black version.

    Jerks.

Wow... thats just stupid... Wouldn't you imagine a game like this to be on the Wii? So you can actually move around and excersise and crap?

That's completely stupid. That is a reason to sell out my DS. I'll.

Nintendo are really pushing themselves over the line here... the first Brain Training game was an excellent idea, but now it's just completely stupid. I'm all for family-friendly stuff, but this is really taking it too far. It's a game console not an exercise machine... that's what we have schools and gyms for. If it wasn't for Pokemon Diamond I would've sold my DS months ago.

You guys do know this is being developed by Ubisoft and not Nintendo right?

...so? it's still an exclusive on a Nintendo system, based on a stupid idea of getting fit by playing games... consider it Wii Fit DS.

I only just noticed this at a store...

    http://www.game.co.uk/DS/Activity/~r331914/Paint-By-DS/

how would that be good? drawing things with the stylus has never really been fun, let alone easy to do accurately. it's like trying to draw on paint, it just doesn't work.

What the hell are all of you talking about. I don't give a shit if I get flamed for this: its a great idea. Its just a game. Jeez, its not even targeted for you guys (or at least not that I think). Its for adults. Why would you guys care? Just don't pick it up. Get a great game. One that you want. Nobodies even telling you to get this game. You guys didn't care when brain age came out. Nor the sequel. Not even Wii Fit. So why jump all over them now? You're using this as an excuse to complain about things you personally don't like about Nintendo.
And koopa: WTF? Why does it really matter what DS your using? The phat one is exactly the same. Sure, its bigger. Sure, its heavier. Heck, its even ugly. But you can play it, so who cares? And how do you know Nintendo had the Lite ready while the phat one was out? That sounds like an assumption to me (correct me if I'm wrong). Also, WHO CARES what color your Wii is. It doesn't effect gameplay, so who cares.

the original DS's screen was darker, it was heavier, the stylus was small and easy to lose, and it could break very easily. The DS Lite was much more compact and convenient but it got released six months later. SURELY they weren't working on it immediately after the original got released, otherwise they'd be no point of releasing the original in the first place. And about the whole Wii Fit/Brain Age thing, it's that Nintendo are now focusing on these family exercise games instead of putting their all into hardcore gaming that they used to deliver. When the Wii was first announced and we were told it would support full motion control, we expected quality gaming with the ability to be active. Sure, we got some great games for this, but they were only until much later on, and the Wii was the victim of countless party games and bad ports. The DS started off great, lots of awesome games, very few crappy ones, but now it's all High School Musical and pet games, not to mention the entire Brain Age fad.

1: I am aware of the stylus. Yes it was small. But I bet you only thought this once the Lite came out and there was a comparison, unless you had a PDA or something you were used to.
2: They're trying to become a family company (funny, they started out with love hotels), which sadly, Microsoft and Sony aren't doing that well. Nintendo has stepped up to the plate, and they're trying to be the best family company they can be. If nintendo fans have to sit tight through a few family/health games, so be it. It tests how good a fan you are. If you don't like what they're are/have become, leave them. Go to sony or microsoft, nobody really cares.
    3: Agreed
4: Same as second half of #2. But, to add to this: somebody said this already, but Nintendo isn't making these games. Sure, they made Nintendogs, but the rest of these Pet sims are made by other companies. Sure they're getting annoying (lion pet sim=WTF), and I believe there has only been two~three HSM games. Not that big a deal.

so, if these pet clones and party games are made by third-party developers, why aren't they on the 360 and PS3? because Nintendo's new systems can support them. The problem is that Nintendo are ALLOWING them to be made. The Nintendo Seal of Quality doesn't mean anything anymore. They don't play the games, say "no, this game is bad, the customers will not be satisfied, we wont allow it", the Seal is only there to assure you that it's not pirated and it's legal. They should really get off their butts and start thinking about the people who made them successful in the first place: GAMERS. I see your point though. My problem is that these games just flat-out suck.

I agree that they are bad. I agree that there are too many. But as long as they are a good idea (NOT pet sims and HSM ) I won't really care.
BTW, have you ever reached for the ' and gotten a ;, so won't comes out as won;t?

This idea is actually good, i dont think there should be any reason to be mad that it's being released. Nintendo knows exactly what they're doing.

Nintendo is all about reaching for ANY sort of audience; shooter fans, adventure fans, platormers, puzzles, and now that the DS and Wii have unique capabilities, they want to focus on people that would be able to use the game. (Keep in mind what Cerium said though, Ninendo isn't even MAKING the game)

Nintendo knows that people will buy the game, someone always will, and since Ubisoft is both the developer AND publisher, Nintendo just needs to put it all on a cartage, which is not much money in comparison to the percent that they would get from the game's sales.

    Just giving my two cents.
I'm gonna go eat breakfast now...
