What's the heck with the GIMP/PhotoShop groups? It doesn't always matter what program you use and it's what you do with it. Bob is better than the majority of PhotoShop users on this site and he uses GIMP, and FF22 said he uses Paint Shop and he's possibly the best on the site. The idea is flawed to group them based on what program they use.

    no no E_G.

he made groups according to the Save files the programmes have.
E.g.- Photoshop uses .psd, so photoshop users can easily Pm or mail their .psd to their group-members to edit.

All right Ayron I see, thanks for clearing that up, forget about it then. However I must ask, how are the people in each team being chosen? I'm a little confused.

e,g, your team is making a Splinter Cell Boxart.
you have a image of Sam Fisher and you don't know how to present it in the box art, so you pass it to one of your team mates and they'll might find a good use for it.

I post up a forum with rules on the league soon.

Well, I don't think that is going to work. Imagine some people who have put in a lot of effort in the image editting pass the image on to someone to put in the title....and he ends up ruining the whole thing by putting in a horrible choppy logo.

...and then if someone doesn't want something like that to happen - they might do everything by themselves and will be called "dominating" and "not a team player" by the other members.

You can't have teams to make a boxart. A boxart is the vision of an individual artist, and if you make several artists work together on the same thing it will end up a mess. This is the reason why actual boxarts and box-cover illustrations are made by a single artist and not a team.

I'm sorry, but I think this teamwork thing will not work at all.

In this view I completly agree, but I think he should allow people to join by their skills in Photoshop/GIMP, no exeptions.

Maybe you can compromise by having teammates all making their separate boxes. The thing here though is that in order to win they could share tips and advice via PM or MSN etc, as that would help their team be stronger.

Isn't GIMP's standard extension .xcf? I've never heard of .gnu before...

Anyways, I was just curious about that. I don't have the time right now to make any more boxes past the competition I'm already in.

Isn't there any contest that doesn't have to do with box arts?

Considering this is a box art site, I'd have to go with the negative on that one.
