Arrow DayZ Becoming it's Own Game

DayZ being developed as a standalone game

“That’s right, this is actually happening,” reads a tweet from the official DayZ dev twitter feed. “DayZ will be developed as a standalone game.” A post on the DayZ site from Dean “Rocket” Hall announces that Bohemia Interactive are developing DayZ as a full game, and he’ll be heading up development as lead designer.

I wonder how much it's gonna cost and what engine it's gonna use.

I'm quite pissed off because I just bought Arma 2 yesterday to play this.

Been saving for this to happen so that I don't have to buy all of ARMA II, especially since I didn't care for the ARMA II demo at all. The DayZ mod, however, does look very fun and I'm looking forward to this.

I hope they fix things when they release it. The respawn system is awful. To respawn, you have to quit the server and it takes forever to load. With it being it's own thing now, I think these things will be fixed. I am just wondering which engine it will use. I take it ARMA 2 and ARMA 3 are using separate engines? Well I wonder which one it will use...
