Amazon may have revealed the design of the Wii U box art's a little early:
![]()
I don't think it's real. It's just a recolor of the GC template. Plus, yellow isn't even part of their color scheme. It's mainly Blue and White, isn't it?
I like it. It's reminiscent to the GameCube template, which is probably my favorite header design out of all of the systems. The yellow seems out of place though.

I hope this is the real template, it's very nice. And the gamecube template is a little different, the line at the bottom goes all the way around I believe.
I like it, but yellow doesn't even make since in relation to how they've been portraying the Wii U brand (white/blue/grey). Unless I'm missing something, it seems pretty random.
I don't like the yellow line, Yoshistar's suggestion is much better. Or this:
![]()
Yoshistar's versions is infinitely better! Nintendo's version re-use the GameCube template, in a bad way.
I think they are going this to separate the consoles. I mean some people still think the 3DS isn't a new console and just a new iteration of the DSi. The 3DS template is just a flip of the DS but with this it is new so it might make people think the console is new. They could have avoided this by giving it a better fucking name but whatever...
I think they look nice, I like the blue and yellow variation. It'll definitely stick out from all other games, similar how Blue-Ray stuck out.
It doesn't look so bad when you realize the plastic is blue, too.
I'm guessing that Wii U's marketing/branding/packaging is going to include a lot of blue and yellow.
It better be or the yellow will remain nonsensical.
Yellow and blue? I don't mind.
It looks much better when the plastic case is shown as well.
Also, making a distinctly new template is great, after all the confusion with WiiU being Wii 1.5 or 2. But using the same (Exept from adding the U) spine sounds like quite a bad idea.

Am I the only one that still thinks it's an ugly template, even in a blue plastic?
But... just like the old PS3 template, maybe they'll change it after a couple of months
Warner Bros Games just comfirmed the design, although it seems to be a bit brighter.
EDIT: That's the official press-image from them. If they made a mistake, and it should be a bit darker like the former images, it looks much better.
EDIT2: Unless the darker design in the NTSC-version and the bright one is PAL. But that'd be horrible.
