    Default Custom Font (very simple)

I decided to work on my own font. I am sure there are many fonts out there like this one, but I am making this from scratch. This is just the concept of the lowercase letters so far. Please let me know what you think, and if any letters seem out of place. Thanks!

Some of the letters will seem disjointed. Don't worry, that won't be the case in the final version.

    Thank you!

Here is an update with all of the characters. It is quite a project. I still have to go through and pen tool everything, but I am glad I have gotten all of the concepts done. If anything seems out of place, please let me know!

The j's and the & symbol don't look quite right.
The rest looks amazing though, congrats.

Agreed with this, I don't like the S's either.

Okie dokie, I will take a look at that.

What do you think is specifically wrong with the j's? Is it both of them, or just the capital J? I can't tell what's wrong with them. But if you describe it, I will probably change it.

Also, the & sign I will change. I think I know the problem there.

The s's I will also change. I knew those looked weird.

Any thoughts on the capital W or the capital M? I struggled with those also.

Thanks for the feedback thus far!

I think the M and W look fine. As for the J, it gets a little shaky when the curve meets the straight line, as if the two parts don't flow well together. The lowercase j looks alright though, to me anyway.

Yeah, I still have to outline these in the pen tool, so the shakiness just comes from me incorrectly aligning the two parts of the J. The shakiness will go away. Without that, does it look okay? Or should I make the capital J only be a quarter circle instead of a semicircle?

I like the design of it as it is now.

I updated those particular letters. If you could voice your opinion on the designs, that would be helpful. I have a J with a full semicircle bottom, and a J with a quarter-circle bottom. Still prefer the full semicircle? I think the full semicircle matches better with the other letters.

I know the letters are still pretty shaky, especially the & sign. But that will be fixed.

The J on the left looks best to me. As for the S, it still looks pretty awkward, especially since the top half is bigger than the bottom.

The top and bottom of the S are the same size. I am not sure why it looks that way. I will have another go at it. But is this one better or worse than the last version?

Definitely better, before it looked like it was italicized. The proportions just look odd now.

Better? Smaller top, bigger bottom, still works with the theme?

Here is how it turned out! I submitted it to dafont, but I have to wait and see if it is accepted. It is my first font, so there is bound to be an error or two, especially in spacing. Hopefully it works for the most part, though. I will add a link here if it is accepted. It will be 100% free for personal and commercial use.

some of the curves are pretty shaky, You can see they aren't joined together.

In the image I just posted? I know the first photo I posted was shaky, because that was made in photoshop. The picture above (blue and white) is the final product of the font, remade in Illustrator and Fontographer. The lines should not appear shaky.
