Personally for me this idea is one of the few things that kills the experience for me on this website. We make fake video game covers for basically nothing except competition, personal enjoyment, printables or criticism. Unless you're getting those following things out of doing this, what we do is ultimately meaningless, it's just something to look at. We don't own any of the images we use, so the "King of Boxartists" seems kind of egotistical. This entire website's ranking system fuels that even more, I think this website should be strictly comment based, that way it would be easier to weed out who's here for the fake RPG experience and who's here just to have fun.

Personally I'm just here to have fun. I loved markers original, jevangods was amazing, and now here I am attempting to start one of the biggest controversies on the site. But in the end, I enjoy making boxart, and that's all that matters really.

We're against it because in the past these kinds of boxarts have always been by the top artists on the site. It'd be more appropriate for memebers like eggboy or Pan to do it. However, if you surprise us with what you come up with it'd be a more welcomed idea. Maybe show us what you have so far.
