Question Help, need advice on Gaming Pc.

Hey guys, was considering investing in a gaming Pc but I'm kind of new to everything related, my friend got the Ati Radeon 7770 gaming Pc recently, however he is unable to set it up as he has exams. So I just waned to know if I should purchase the same Pc and if it is worth it. Assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am pretty sure that is a GPU not a PC.

Your friend bought a prebuilt gaming PC? To tell you the truth, that's worse than buying a normal prebuilt PC. They overcharge you by putting pretty lights on their cases. (*cough* Alienware *cough*)

Saying your friend bought the ATI Radeon 7700 PC is like saying your friend bought the blue car.

Also PCs aren't consoles. A GPU is hardly a "PC" you need to describe a proper list of specs.

As I mentioned, I am alien to all things related to this subject, I'll post specs soon. Also can anyone recommend any other gaming PC or GPU for a decent price (£300-£400)

Uh you don't understand, A GPU alone can't run games, you need a proper ammount of RAM(~4GB-8GB), A processor(I still have a shitty dual core but there are much more stronger than mine), A good motherboard, Asus makes some pretty rad ones and finally an efficient power supply.

PCs aren't consoles, you really need to build one with individual parts themselves and with the base functions of a normal computer in mind. I am pretty much against getting a pre-built PC since it usually means they use proprietary hardware that would make upgrading your PC a huge bitch. Sometimes you just need to buy a new one so build your own, it's cheaper in the long run.

As for GPUs in general? nVIDIA is always at the cutting edge but be sure to cough up an obscene amount of cash. ATi makes pretty powerful, affordable cards.

This really isn't the best place to ask TBH, most of us are PC gamers but only half of us know what it really goes into building one, I'd suggest asking here: http://facepunch.com/forums/243 , mention it's all new to you.

I suggest asking Slimd1995, Spiderpig, Mub, beardedwalrus (I think), me, and a few others for advice on building PCs.

He'd be better off finding a random pc gaming forum using Google.

I'd recommend Slim or SP, they are usually competent at what they do...

This. I'm as knowledgeable as can be about that stuff, but I suck at explaining my knowledge. Slim and SP can put things in English really well.
