Default Orion release postponed until fall 2012 - Why?

Orion and the Sword of Light has been pushed to the fall of 2012. Some of you might wonder why this is, but I have a very good reason for my decision to boot it to the end of the year. So read on.

The decision came up today when I was writing the 22nd chapter of the book. I thought of how the story was going, how the development was progressing and everything is running smoother than a piece of paper on a flat surface. However, as I was writing I came across something that may have annoyed some fans and that is how the story progresses. It starts of slow, then in the middle it picks up a bit and then runs its course until the end. Fans of the Harry Potter series grew tired after waiting 3 years for Order of the Phoenix and I was one of them.

My decision isn't because I've run into an issue, I am nearing the end of the first book and it will be completed by the end of the month or mid-June. I want to release it in the summer, but I have an idea I feel will make fans happy. The idea is to release Orion and the Sword of Light & Orion II within 6 months of each other, therefore shortening the gap between releases and giving fans hardly any time to wait for the next installment.

Book 3 however, might take me a while to do since I'm taking a very old myth and transforming it into something of my own. I.E. Werewolves aren't humans prior to transformation, they're just wolves before they turn into werewolves.

I'm also looking to gain a literary agent, rather than going solo with little-to-no promotion. I want promotion, I need this book to be recognized by the majority before it releases, rather than gather the majority and have a dozen and a half offers from agents and publishers. I want to find an agent and a publisher, before I release it.

I know some of you want to read it, I've been talking about it long enough but I assure you it will come out some time this year, just not in the slot I mentioned, just a little later than promised.

I also want to give Drakxxx a little more time with the cover art, drawing what I describe is quite difficult and everyone will see these characters differently. I want him to be free to design a cover, rather than having a deadline just over a month away.

So that's that, I know it's annoying but bear with me for just a little while longer.
