Next Xbox Branding

I thought it might be cool to take a stab at branding the next xbox. First item up is the logo. My initial thought was that something with 'box' in its name should have a box in the mark so I went with that. The new Windows 8 logo (pictured below) maintains very simple geometry whilst remaining identifiably a window. I wanted to try something similar with the xbox logo if only to have a sensible relationship between brands. So, I made a box of 4 boxes that creates an 'x' in its negative space.

After I work this out I'm thinking of designing the Xbox Live subscription cards and the 'neXtbox' console packaging. Neat little project me thinks. Might even do the 'PS4' when I'm done.
