I like the overall look of what you've got going here, but as a person who's never watched MLP:FiM I can't give you any hints or tidbits of advice on who or what to place or how to place them.
I lol'd when I say pinkie though. ^^
I just noticed that the color "waves" along the bottom near the spine are a little off, try to smooth out those lines, along with the white line at the top near the spine, its' thickness doesn't match with the continuing line.
And you might want to touch up all of the line at the top (although that could just be that this version I'm looking at is a .jpg and it just got majorly pixely.)
Also there seem to be some stray white lines/pixels on your render of Rainbow Dash (?)
But I'd like to ask you what it is that you feel that you're having issues on with this box, I may not be a watcher of the show, but I can certainly help look for reference materials or help with other parts of a case! XD

I see what you're talking about. The curves came from the hill and cloud within the BG, so it may be down to that. It's only a simple line so I'll try and vector the line. I'll try and redo Rainbow to. The waves should be no issue to fix either.
And I just like to get critique as I work through things. Help with ideas and concepts. I may try and edit this to do a new Season 1 cover if it turns out well enough too.
Most stuff I missed, seeing as Fireworks tends to be quite low res in designing, but I always notice stuff when I upload them somewhere or view in Windows Picture Viewer.
Is Fireworks an image editing software?
And I also get what you're saying, I always seem to see every little flaw as soon as I post it somewhere, awaiting feedback.
I also understand wanting to see feedback whilst you yourself make progress, even if it's just a "wow this looks cool" or "if you do this it might look better", either way it's kinda like a pick-me-up. It let's you know others are interested in what you're doing, and it kinda gives you more reason to finish it.
Yeah. I moved from Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004 to Adobe Fireworks CS5 due to a virus. I prefer it to Photoshop personally
Cool, I had never heard of it before, the only real reason I'm on PS CS2 is because I got it for free. lol
I got a burnt .ISO and a keygen from a friend a while back (almost 3 years) and it's the only editing software I use, y'know other than MSpaint (it may be horribly outdated, but it can still get the job done from time to time.).
I love it.
Alright well, I'm not sure if this will help you or not, but here's what I would do with your back so far.

Probably a good screen border to use would either be your previous hearts on your Season 1, or the clouds done on Super-mega-hyper-sonic's season 1.
Although like I've said I've never watched this, so I've got zilch to go off of besides what's here, but maybe some kind of "sparkly whimsical magical swoosh" border would do the trick aswell. Y'know something similar to what I've seen Twilight sparkle do when she uses magic?

Hmm. I'll have a play around. I'm gonna use the Friendship Express DVD for some help, but I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the ideas though :3
You're welcome! Glad I could possibly be of assistance, as some help is better than no help XD
And yeah looking at the dvd cover that seems like it would be a good place to draw some inspiration from, good luck!

Are you going to put the Princesses on there?
I may, they're not a priority.
It's Mane 6
CMC
Princesses
Derpy
Spike
Looks as though Permission has been granted on all the vectors. I'll start the back when I get home.
Also, I noticed There are still a few iffy lines on Rainbow/Shy and on Twilight, so I'll redo those when I get home.

I've always disliked that vector of Twilight, and now I know why. Her eyes are way too far apart! It's weird. Accursed pre-Season One vectors!
Oh, and critique stuff:
-Applejack's shadow is slightly off.
-The gaping hole on the front. Not sure what you could fill there.
-Permission for vectors? Are some of them custom? Cause most vectors I see are just rips from the show.

Yeah, I noticed AJ's shadow yesterday. And I'll work at filling the space, maybe if I swap Fluttershy and Rainbow so they're back to back and move the Logo and Derpy slightly to the left. And most of the vectors I got off DA, where people recreate them in very high quality. The original Applejack I used before resizing was around 3 times the size of the box
