As far as appearances go, I must say I'm a bit surprised by how very similar it is to Smash Bros. The gameplay mechanics seem more or less identical, but of course more in-depth analysis would be required to confirm a statement like that. It does look like Superbot is emulating Nintendo's own crossover's chaotic madness well, if in their own way. The stage mixups are a clever new device, especially promising after seeing the self-developing world of LittleBigPlanet meet with Buzz trivia questions.

Kratos and Sweet Tooth were obvious, but I'm also glad to see Sly and Radec (really the only viable Killzone character) be chosen as well. I'm overjoyed to see PaRappa, if only to confirm that Sony hasn't forgotten their past. I'm still baffled by Fat Princess' inclusion, though.

My main focus of interest now is third-party support, and who Superbot has in mind to fill those guest slots. And who in the Sony universe could act as a "boss" character?

I'm honestly seeing Solid Snake at the moment, and maybe even Ezio Auditore. The boss character I would honestly love to see is every villian of the character that makes it into the game.

I'm curious if that "Michael" video really does have anything to do with this. If so, the third-party support could be clearer than we think.

The villain concept wouldn't necessarily work. For one thing, Radec is the villain of the game he's hailing from.

Well, I guess not every villian, but still, it'd be a pretty neat feature. Also, the release date is currently Holiday 2012.

Buzz isn't actually a confirmed character. Instead he appears to be a stage hazard that electrocutes players and asks trivia questions.

Hey Sony, remember Arkham City? and how it's all popular and stuff?
Yeah, put Batman in this game plz.

I knew it was gonna be a Smash bros rip off, but this look EXACTLY like Smash Bros. Shouldn't be suprised at all I guess.

That is true, I'm expecting Buzz to be more of an assist trophy like item.

Watched a video about Sony's Super Smash Bros ripoff. Only knew who two of the characters were (Kratos and Sly). Silly Sony. Cross-franchise fighting games are for companies with franchises people recognize.

I recognized all of them, but that comes from playing Sony and Nintendo games since the PS1 and SNES. It's all a matter of preference. While it is very similar, Nintendo didn't invent the genre.

The graphics leave me very unimpressed, I hope that's due to this being early in development. The colors look washed out, and what's with the white glow over the characters?

This stood out to me as well. A technical showcase it may not need to be, but bumping up the colors a few notches wouldn't be ill-advised. Even the LittleBigPlanet stage was looking a bit drab.

I would agree with the colors, surely they will be fine tuned as the game gets deeper in development. Seeing as this is the first public showing of the game, they will be getting a lot of feedback to take into consideration.

Man, these graphics are Wii tier, come on SuperBot, don't ruin a good idea.

I was beginning to think the same, but watching the official HD video from Sony (Now in the OP), it does seem to look better.

Damn, they're not even trying to conceal the fact that thing is a total ripoff of Smash Brothers. I guess they figured after the Move thing, everyone just expects them to copy Nintendo.
