Maybe it leads up to HOW he became the Ghost of Sparta. We know how he became it (well you do. I only played the GoW1 Demo) but the events that lead up to it maybe. Or maybe they just want you to play how it happened.

Apparently It tells about a time during Kratos' life before he was made the "Ghost of Sparta" when he was no longer bound in blood

The God of War franchise has become a blight. The first game was awesome, it was a Greek tragedy. It was innovative, exciting and genuinely fun to play. Then, in 2, Kratos became a one-dimensional cartoon character, whose personality was defined by a series of roars and bloodlust. Despite this, it was still a good game. It was still fun to play, and meeting gods and more ancient Greek monsters was pretty awesome.

Then three came along and completely transformed the franchise into an over-the-top Hollywood action game. Kratos kills the gods because, fuck them. And that's all! The only one he didn't kill was Aphrodite, because...Well, same reason really. It WAS a fun game to play, don't get me wrong, but the story was just pants, especially when they added Pandora into the mix.

Kratos isn't really a deep character, and the fact they are trying to make him one both frustrates and amuses me. Frustrates me because they could be working on different things, and it seems like they're beating a dead horse (brutally, with the Nemean Cestus.)
Amuses me because he's just not a deep character. He was tricked by Ares, then by Zeus. If anything, he's a dumb caricature of a Greek hero.

Sony Unveils God of War: Ascension's Multiplayer

    1) How?
    2) I'm not sure why they released multiplayer screens before singleplayer...

Contrary to what developers apparently think, not everything needs multiplayer.

My thoughts exactly. Especially series like God of War...

I just looked up how it works, and already it sounds like a clusterfuck. 4v4 domination with 2 points and a megaclops in the background, then when one team controls both points the megaclops gets pulled via chains to that teams side, and a weapon to kill appears on the map to kill the beast. At this point the controlling team must get the weapon to their side or if they take too long, the weapon disappears and the points reset. But if the controlling team gets to the megaclops, it's game, and the MVP delivers the final blow.

Sounds like a thrown-together-overnight idea to me. If they absolutely needs to have multiplayer, they could of just did a horde mode.

    Also a video (Gore warning):

    That sounds ridiculous.

I don't think the cyclops deserved any of that.
