Just received a *Wip* of the cover from IcyFireFists, looks amazing from what I've seen, the artwork is great.

Orion and the Sword of Light is complete. Just put the final words on the last page, now onto the editing phase. Can't say how long it is, but it's a lot longer than the previous draft of 383 pages. I know you will all enjoy it, I reference a lot from culture in this book. You'll witness some epic battles and some awe-inspiring locations, some fantastic animals (such as the Gryphons) and a Hag (A very old witch) battle scene.
The ending is 4 chapters long and has multiple stages, like an old fashioned videogame boss fight. Development is spot on with what I wanted it to be. The story is great, and I'm not plucking my own strings here, it's a story that has a lot of twists and turns and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Editing might take me a while as I didn't think it would be as long as it turned out. All in all I've written over 140,000 words in just over a month and now I'm querying literary agents and publishers around the world. Two, maybe three months, and Orion will be on shelves across the globe.

I've only just sent him the details for the front, not the back. The back will mostly be comprised of text but the front will have gryphon silhouettes, Orion, Milo and Maralda along with some other details from the book. But I've let him decide on the layout, how long it will take I don't know but there's not a rush. I have no deadline so that's a plus.
All that's left:
Editing
Proofreading
Cover art

28.04.12 - Preview
18.05.12 - Tentative Release date
25.07.12 - I hope to have it released by the end of July
It's crunch time right now for me, the book might be finished but the editing is going to take a while. So far I'm only 44 pages in after a day of editing. Which means there's well over 350+ pages left to go, yes this draft is way over 400 pages long but that might change after I've edited it all.

I've decided on the preview everyone will get. It's a cliffhanger ending action sequence which is sure to make people want more. Won't say what it is, as it hasn't been done before but it includes "flight". "Sequence" means a snip from a chapter, not an entire chapter, probably 2 pages or so.

I have a proofreader now, and it cost me £0. A former English teacher is going to take a look through it, she seems very interested in it and has publisher friends.

Awwwww yeeeeaaahhh I love books!!!!DDD
Just summed up the word count for a mere 200 pages. It's 103,371 words in just 200 pages, project that over 400+ pages and the first Orion book has more words than the first 3 Harry Potter books combined. Equalling Holy crap! That's a lot of words.
