    Default Epic Mickey 2

Well, the game is apparently called "Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two". It will be released for PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. (Other Systems TBA.) It will contain co-op as well.

    Screenshots:

    Also details about the game:

    -Voice-acting confirmed.
    -Mickey/Oswald Co-op confirmed
    -Better camera
-The game's writing will be something like a musical. (Y'know? Your typical random Disney singing moments.)

    Also Interview with Warren Spector.

    Plus the Wii versions box-art.

    More info:
    - Erased/restored objects no longer reset once you leave the area.
    - Their goal with the camera is to have it where you won't even need to meddle with it unless your handling sidequests or looking for hidden stuff.
    - Local Co-op only. No online.
    -Wii is the lead platform.

This is honestly the only game I have ever pre-ordered the day after the debut trailer. XP

As much as games cost these days I rarely preorder anything, and hardly ever buy games at launch day. From what has been shown, it does look good, but not enough has been shown for me to warrant spending $50-$60 already. The only game, in my opinion, that I feel comfortable even paying full price for is Mass Effect 3. Idk, I just feel anymore that it's silly to whenever games are usually half the price just a few months after release, and there's almost always the inevitable "Complete Edition" or "GOTY Edition" with all the DLC included at half the cost.

Still, I think it will be a great game, but I'd like to see more first before forming a solid opinion just yet.

Well, it's 50 dollars for each system. (Wii, PS3 and 360.) Which, I think is a pretty good deal, so I just pre-ordered it for PS3.

Sure wish I had enough money to pre-order a game that I just thought looked cool.

You don't think it's a little early to commit that much money to a game after the debut trailer though?

This seems to have the same problems I had with the first one: empty environments.

Edit: Spoke too soon. After seeing the new gameplay trailer, this looks like much more of an improvement than the previous game.

You pre-order it for five dollars. That isn't very much money.

It looks pretty cool and stuff, but my question is... I never had a Wii so I never played it (even in my friends' house, I never played this Epic Mickey) so... If I buy this game, do I have to play Epic Mickey 1 to understand Epic Mickey 2?

I'm pretty sure you don't, and anyways if you do, Warren Spector had an interest in bringing Epic Mickey 1 to PS3 and Xbox 360, so it could possibly be released on PSN or XBLA.

You don't miss much, it's preferable to watch the cutscenes on youtube than actually play it, honestly. The first level/"world" is good, the game looks nice and has a movie-like soundtrack, but the gameplay felt "retro" in the wrong sense (that is, it plays a bit like a 3D platformer from the N64 days).

For some gamers, what looks like guaranteed fun is the portable version titled "Power of Illusion", which is some sort of "spiritual sequel" to the Illusion series starring Mickey Mouse from the days of the Mega Drive / Genesis.
