Greetings gentlemen, and thanks for opening the thread. You see, me and my friends are putting together a Yugioh team. Each of us will have our own playmats, made by moi. There will be 7, and so far I have made 3. If you would be so kind, I'd like to know what you think.

Anyway, I'm not going to ask about why you play yugioh because we all still have our inner child in some way or another haha. But they don't look bad, theyre just eh. Don't like the generic font, as the main thing.

Yugioh is a game for all ages, and I have no idea why everyone calls it a kid's game. But whenever someone calls it a kid's game, I say "Does this look like a kids game to you?".

As for the text, I dunno, I tried to keep it simple. I didn't want anything too complicated.

As for the mats, I would try making the textures just a bit more prominent. I agree with TMRD about the text, maybe it should be something more "Ancient" timey, if that makes any sense.

I added some more grunge to it. As for the font, I tried experimenting with different font, but none of them came out right. Can any of you recommend a font?

Something not so curved like that. Yugioh is a fighting game not a graceful one. The font should be more powerful.

I still play Yugioh here and there, I think it's one of the best card games out there. Though I think the series and card games got a bit ruined by the 5Ds stuff with the Tunors and whatever.

As others said, a better font choice would be nice. I recognize those monsters you used, those are crystal beasts right? Maybe something related to crystal or whatever would be cool.

Yep, the Crystal Beasts. The original design had each of their crystals behind them, it didn't really work out.

Everyone was playing this in middle school. No one I know plays it now. I mean there's nothing wrong with it being a kids game. I'm sure it might be fun. You just asked does it look like one and I said yes.

I used to be into Yugioh, loved the GBA games. But playing with others was dumb, because either no one knew what they were doing, or it would take ages because you would sit there reading each others cards.

Speaking as a twenty-six year old man, Yu-Gi-Oh! is a really enjoyable (And deep as fuck) card game. I've had a ton of fun playing against my friends with the likes of it and Magic: The Gathering. Don't let the card game's association with the anime fool you. It's complex enough for an adult to enjoy.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm one of the most childish people I know in this respect. I love kiddy things.
I still watch just about every Pixar/Dreamworks movie that comes out. I play every mario game I possibly can.
