My comment was more in reference to the "angsty females" being my favorite characters in gaming, but your take on it is also relevant I suppose. I didn't feel it necessary, but if you'd so like me to explain my disdain for Nathan Drake, I can.

I think I've hated some people I've met because they're assholes, or I've hated a certain food because it tastes terrible, but hating a game is reaching. It's a game character that I don't have to interact with, dislike would be a better word.

Anyway, Ezio is realistic, people can do that. Maybe not quite as good, but pretty high up there.

I can understand this logic, although I don't see the fallacy in hating a fictional character if he/she makes no effort in gaining my empathy or respect during my time with their respective games. You could take it as Drake's actions and personality being something I'd hate, or at least very severely dislike, reflected on an actual person.

You can hate qualities. Video game characters, whether they're real or not (they aren't lol) have qualities. These same qualities could be in real people.
