Didn't think this was worth it's own thread.

    Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 for Wii U / 360 / PS3 / Vita ... Castlevania: Mirror of Fate for 3DS

Basically, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is probably going to be at E3 2012.

The reason that I tend to believe a sequel to 2010's far-better-than-anyone-expected-it-to-be-especially-given-that-Mercury-Steam-made-it-and-oh-my-god-do-you-remember-that-Clive-Barker's-Jericho-game-they-did-oh-bloody-hell-that-was-awful Castlevania reboot is going to make an appearance at the show? Okay, hands up, it's an anonymous source at a blog. But it's an anonymous source from the same blog that accurately leaked the details of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale all those months ago, so I'm inclined to give it some credence. I'm nothing if not discerning in my choices of completely unverified potential bullshit vendors.

And anyway, we know that Castlevania is making a bit of a resurgence this year, and that Mercury Steam is still in some way attached. The 2D Mirror of Fate is coming to the 3DS with Lords of Shadows' Producer David Cox attached, and the Steam's composer Oscar Aroujo let slip that a proper LoS sequel was underway shortly after the first game was released.

So yeah, Lords of Shadow 2 then. Probably coming. That's a good thing. Enjoy your barbecue.

Unlike that ridiculous(ly horrible) rumor about Metroid x Star Fox, this seems credible. I really liked Lords of Shadow, despite being quite un-Castlevania in many ways, and have been looking forward to the sequel for a while now.

Damn, a lot of delays into 2013. DMC fans probably won't mind this one as much, though.

But I'm sure Bethesda had nothing to do with that. Get on Bethesda all you want for their games, but I highly doubt this decision was up to Bethesda at all.

ZeniMax only is a holding company. Bethesda owns trademarks.

Not sure about Anarchy Reigns even though it comes from Platinum Gamers, makers of such critical favorites as Vanquish and Bayonetta? You'll have a chance to convince yourself ahead of release, as Famitsu reports this week that a demo will hit next week.

Look for the Anarchy Reigns demo on the 31st. The demo will include a sampling of the story mode and two types of network play.

Famitsu's report on Anarchy Reigns this week also reveals that you'll be able to change the color and costume of the Bayonetta cameo character. Bayonetta will also have new moves that were left out of the main Bayonetta game.

Shigeru Miyamoto honored with Prince of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities

    Source: http://www.fpa.es/en/press/news/shig...nd-humanities/

This is a pretty big deal; the award is very prestigious. It was his third nomination, and he finally won as he certainly deserves to.

    Congrats, Miyamoto!

I'm not a huge Nintendo fan but Miyamoto is awesome. Glad to see he won.

Gran Turismo 6 rumors are at it again:

It’s still not confirmed by Sony, but Gran Turismo 6 has appeared again online, this time on the LinkedIn page of a marketer at SCEA.

The mention, now removed, read (emphasis ours):

"Managing the following titles and franchises at Sony Computer Entertainment America as product manager, handling strategic planning, day-to-day marketing activities, and lifecycle management:
Gran Turismo 6 and GT franchise, The Last Guardian, MotorStorm, Journey, Carnival Island, other titles yet to be announced.
    "

Strange that GT6 is not included in that ‘yet to be announced’ category, yes, but it doesn’t appear to be a typo; GT5, GT5 Prologue and GT PSP are all listed later in the profile in the past tense.

Back in March, members of the development team were spotted taking photos and measurements at the Mount Panorama course at Bathurst.

A Vita entry in the franchise has been rumoured of late (and may be on the way, given the “…and GT franchise” snippet in the profile), but it sounds like a numbered, and therefore likely home console, edition is closer to launch.
I could easily see this releasing next year, as they already completed the engine during the development of GT5. More optimization, enhancements and features have most likely been added, and the game may be pretty far in development. While GT5 may have been disappointing for some, after all of the patches and added content, it's a very impressive game. I'm looking forward to this.

It's also reassuring to see The Last Guardian mentioned as a game in active development.

I was very disappointed with the damage in GT5, as well as the cosmetic customization of the cars.

Honestly, besides those, it was a fantastic game. If they were to add more cars (not that there weren't enough in GT5), fix the damage (no pun intended), and make the visual customization better, I'd probably be willing to buy a new game. Well, maybe a bit more than that, but those are the main problems with GT5 that I care about.

I'm excited to hear about new tracks, especially after they were seen taking images of the Bathurst track. Damage could have been much better, even after the patches, and while all cars did eventually have a cockpit view by the time the last patch was released, the standard cars only have a black interior. Even if they have to have fewer cars, I would take that any day if all cars are as detailed as they have been in the Forza franchise, particularly FM3 and 4.

Yeah, and it wouldn't hurt to take some notes from Shift 2 when it comes to damage and interior camera views. I've never played Forza, but Shift 2 is great in those aspects.

I was pretty pissed that they made the Veyron a standard car. Also, it seemed like they spent 10x the time making all of the hundreds of crappy, standard cars than they did on the premium cars. There were quite a few cars that really should have been added, and quite a few that I'm sure nobody cares about.

A nice demo of a market place chase and a dev comments on what to expect from sleeping dogs.
A side from the graphics (which doesn't look as great as for example GTA IV imo.) It looks kinda interesting.

Numerous reports saying 38 Studios has laid off the entire staff of Big Huge Games and shut down the studio. I'm really sad now. Can't believe it.

    That's really sad news indeed

I really liked Reckoning, the studio sure got the potential, it could have gone a lot better after that imo.

I just hope they'll get their so called 'shit' together.

With the mismanagement and financial troubles that have been going on prior, I can't say I didn't see it coming. While I find Reckoning to be painfully mediocre, I'm never glad to see a studio in the industry close. Best of luck to them.
