I'm gonna be honest, I don't see the point of this thread. The whole point of the deletion of the conversation thread was that there wasn't a general area where everyone posted things like this. This is basically "The conversation thread for gaming". It isn't necessary. If there is gaming news announced it should be put in its own thread so it can be discussed without being cluttered by other gaming news.

Well I think he meant for this to be where small gaming news/rumors can be posted. A whole new thread for a small rumor is unnecessary imo.

I'm going to design a video game.
You play as the main character, a member of an online forum, waging war against the admin to get the convo thread back.

    It will sell millions.

I agree, it's too big and general, please narrow it down...

Usually a piece of game news should be its own thread.

So they're making a Jet Set Radio HD remake. Isn't that game supposedly really good?

    Fable Heroes coming this summer.

This seems to be the nail in the coffin.

That's not Fable. It's a 'Castle Crashers like' game with a Fable name to gain more attention. Disappointed by Lionhead yet again, they really could be doing so much more.

    Oh. My. God.

A 30 car DLC pack will be coming to Forza 4 in May, containing cars of the Porsche brand. This is the best news since the announcement of FM4, as far as racing sims are concerned for me. For those of you that don't know, EA denied the use of Porsche in Forza 4 due to an exclusive agreement Porsche made with EA, but Turn10 has negotiated with Porsche and will now have them available as DLC. I'm super excited.

In other Forza news, the guys behind PGR4 (One of the best sims/racers ever made), will be developing Forza Horizon along with Turn10 Studios for release later this year.

Best of two worlds, awesome. I loved Mafia 2 so this is great news to hear ~ hopefully they would revamp Rockstar's combat mechanics.

Apparently buying I Am Alive is a very bad idea:

Just watching the gameplay in the review puts it off for me.

    IGN.

I do agree the game has looked lackluster ever since it resurfaced a while back. I'll try the trial, at least, before writing it off entirely.

Not just IGN, look at the other review sites. It's gotten terrible reviews across the board.

I really, really don't like going by critic scores, but okay. According to Metacritic, the game has a 77/100 average which is far from terrible.

Looking at the scores isn't really the best way to go about it. I've just been watching gameplay video, and everything about it looks unappealing. The color tone, poor animation, graphical bugs and various gameplay elements seem pretty bad, but I suppose a playthrough is really the only way to find out for sure if it's any good or not.

The makers of Heavy Rain (Quantic Dream) are working on a new engine (or just a new tech demo), showing of many things, the graphical level, the audible and visual performances, basically their plans on expanding on the acting from Heavy Rain.

Just to be clear this is NOT a real game.

We also wanted to improve the quality of the acting. With Heavy Rain, we did what many games do — split performances, recording a voice on one side and a body animation on the other, putting everything together and crossing your fingers that you get a consistent performance. It worked okay for Heavy Rain, but you lose a lot of a performance by splitting into two and rebuilding it artificially.
We wanted to do what Avatar did by having one full performance where we capture everything at the same time. And we wanted to demonstrate these new performance capture techniques and the new engine before going into production, so we developed a short showcase that would allow us to test these ideas and technologies. This is how “Kara” was created.
“Kara” is not our next game. It’s not the character, it’s not the world, it’s not the story. …We do things in a very strange way here, things that have nothing to do with the games we make. But I think that’s a part of the DNA of the studio, and hopefully something that people like about us – they never know what they’re going to get!
